Seriously, every time I read a book or watch a series or movie, the constant question in the back of my mind is, "Could this be my next fandom?" But then, I have trouble getting through even well-written fanfics, so I guess I'm the complete opposite.

Why is it that so many people hate WoW? Friends of alcoholics don't hate the drink (I know from experience), so why do you hate the game? If you really care, get them into rehab.

We can always hope, since Arcsys is pretty good with their storylines I'm sure it will be interesting, if nothing else. How's that a secret? I think every second reportage about computer games (at least here in Germany) has one WoW-related thing in it.
(I don't play WoW and have no clue about all of this, but jus' saying. Of course it can be addictive, I know two guys who are pretty crazy about it. But I also know a bunch of people who play it and are completely normal, including my own stepsister.)

Same problem here, I always used to have a book in my hands. I drove my librarian crazy, asking her for book recommendations. Then I found fandom. I haven't read a real book in ages.

I AGREE.
There we were, me and my man, playing our Forsaken horrible mutant zombies, when this girl blood elf runs past, naked. I ask, "why aren't you wearing armor? You could be killed if you get attacked!" and she replies in more or less words that boys give her stuff for free this way.
This is the same reason why I don't play alliance and now they're leaking in.
