28. Dear god, yes. I've seen friends lose their jobs and get dumped by their significant others. I've heard cases of people dying from playing too much WoW. I'm tired of getting blown off because someone has scheduled some WoW group campaign or date or whatever and would rather do that than spend time with me. I will never ever ever feel kindly towards WoW. ... And I make no big secret of it.

14. I totally used to do that and I still cringe sometimes whenever I remember it. At the same time, those were really fun times and I pretty much did it mostly on IM with my friends who did it too, so...at least it wasn't painful for outsiders, I hope. ^_^;
17. His eyes do make me kind of...uncomfortable.
20. I kind of agree with this. I'm not in this fandom at all but I've seen this debate here a lot and I think it's pointless to argue about it with other people either way unless the creators have made some sort of statement (which I have no idea if they have).

If you think it's canon, you can write up your reasons why you think so or something and you're free to believe in those reasons, but you should also respect the people who think it's not canon because...you're both kind of on the same boat in that no one knows for sure. In fact, I think it's fun to see the reasons/evidence either side comes up with just for the heck of it, but when arguments degenerates into "NO IM RITE UR RONG THEY R GHEY I NO IT IN MAH HART" or vice versa, I think it just promotes a negative atmosphere in the fandom and makes it less enjoyable.

But...that's just what *I* think. ^_^;

40. I admit I was a little apprehensive about this game when I heard it was pretty much just completely new characters, but I agree that we should all wait until we actually play it. I'm ashamed to say I, too, was going around saying "I don't think I'll ever love it!" but I have since played the demo and I found it really enjoyable thus far and I'm really enjoying the new main character. So...I think it's totally possible that all the current haters will be converted!

40. I actually can't wait for this game. I think the dynamic could be quite interesting (I sorta spoiled myself) and I'm preordering it next week. I was going to play it in Japanese but my Japanese language skills aren't good enough to play the game.

I don't see why people are bashing the game. Oodoroki/Apollo's faces kick so much ass. Makes me even more interested.

28. sadly, agreed. I've seen it happen twice to people I know. it's bizarre. that would be why, when one of my friends offered me a demo trial, I turned him down without a blink. I didn't want my life to be destroyed by it. >>;

8. oh dear lord. i didn't think ANYONE remembered RR.net. i used to go to that site every single day, and i even begged moonraiser for my own fanart page once [because i, at eleven years old, believed that i was the best PPG artist EVER]. i would harrass the artists all the time; i talked to eeveerin and psychoprog every day [i actually wrote prog letters and everything, because i was a creepy stalker like that].
..sorry. done rambling. i just got excited because someone actually REMEMBERS RR.net.

28. It's not WoW's fault if your friends are addicted to the game. Plenty of people play it and are not addicted. I personally have never met anyone who's life was destroyed by WoW.

Like with any addict an intervention is needed. You can't just throw up your hands in defeat and blame the game. If your friends were alcoholics would you just give up and blame all liquor for their addiction or would you try to help them?

Where in my secret did I suggest that I 'threw up my hands' at them? And where in my secret did I suggest that everyone who plays WoW is addicted to it? I was pointing out the fact that it is a game to which people can become addicted, and that people who have become addicted to WoW have ruined their lives as a result. If you and your friends drink, but always in moderation, that does not vicariously mean that alcoholics do not exist.

I met Tamora Pierce four years ago. She was a speaker and an instructor at a small writing conference for youth, so we got to attend classes taught by her, eat lunch with her, etc. She said she read fanfiction sometimes, and she'd found one where Daine was raped, and it made her cry. 20. I'm pretty sick of this argument, as well. I love the characters and they've been my OTP for years, but everytime I see a secret with an illustration of them, my first thought is, "Great, now what?"
