3. Haha, it's kind of funny because I know... sort of what you mean? Problem is, in most fandoms, I ship anyonexanyone, so I get a little o_O over the pairing wars anyway. But I do tend to gravitate more towards male/male (or female/female, on occasion) pairings than anything else, a lot of the time... I feel weird trying to explain to people it's because if canon's exploring a pairing already, it feels a little too mainstream for me to get into as much as other things in fanon. I'm much more likely explore the MMC and FMC with other people, because it grabs my imagination more. AND WHERE ARE THE OT3'S, PEOPLE?

8. ... awwww, that would actually be really cute. :3 Now I kinda like the idea of Franziska sort of... awkwardly trying to loosen up and do something teen-girly and then yelling about FOOLISHNESS and flipping her whip around all flustered-like XD.

35. I think the way I think about it is, it really isn't hurting anyone. Yes, I know that these people put their time and effort into doing something beautiful and something they really enjoy, but they are doing it to share it, and the arguments about all the time and effort put into it and being disrespectful... What about the original source material? Time and effort and love is put into that, but that is the staple of icons. And yes, the original artists, the ones that own the material, are making money off of it... but I don't see how people making icons of things that they love, not making any money off of it themselves, and basically just showing appreciation are doing something horrible, whether it's from the original material, doujinshi, or fanart.

That said, I try not to use fanart in my icons without permission, because I know a lot of people really do flip out about it, and I really don't... like making people flip out, I guess. XD;

39. I AGREE SO HARD. So, so hard. I mean... a lot of it? Isn't very cliche, though it does follow a specific "shounen manga" pattern in a lot of ways. And, geez, the ways that it IS stereotypical are part of what makes it FUN. Reborn does not take itself seriously or claim to make a ton of sense. If people can get past all the OMGHAET, and just realize that... one of the main villains/SHADY ALLY CHARACTERS OMGZ has a song in which he talks about sambas and sings "kufufu no fu"? THE WORLD WOULD BE A MUCH HAPPIER PLACE. ♥

Also, Tsuna is more Jesus than Jesus. I'd follow him into the mafia without hesitation. >: Best family ever, man.

As someone who did get butthurt over some of the behavior in that fandom, I have to say, IT'S NOT THAT BAD. Seriously. Harry Potter has spawned way more crazy wank wars then Dgure could ever aspire too.

And since the crazy whatever-that-was, things have gotten way better over there. For some series I have no desire to be in their fandom anyway, but don't stay away from the fandom just because of some notion you have about what the fandom itself is.

Yay for more Dgure love, and it's too bad you won't come play with us.

Yeah, dgm is too young yet to have had massive craziness like the HP fandom. The only wank I know about was cause of people butting in and playing carebear (though the parties who got attacked didn't seem too spiffy either). Any road, a crazy fandom can only get better through the influx of non-crazy fans. Hopefully you are non-crazy.

5. I'm only like, six years older than you, but I grew up with them too. Sometimes it's just nice to think about them. They help me out just like you've mentioned. It sounds sad, but don't ever let anyone else tell you otherwise.

Also - college is hard as hell. I always suggest taking a breather on a weekend or something and just playing one of the games. It helped me like you wouldn't believe.

35. I used to love fanart icons and never really put a thought how original artists felt about is. But, not long time ago after I've made a fanart icon myself from a fanartists I adored, she banned my IP and I couldn't enter her site. When I checked her site from other computer I found out she deleted her whole gallery and left only doujin&circle info with lots of scripts blocking saving pictures, and big, big "do NOT alter and us my pictures on other sites" in several languages including english.
I can't stop but think it was my fault, and I feel guilty about it.
especially because she was the best and one of the few artists in that fandom, and now her art is gone *whine mode*

There is some elitism in that fandom that scares me, but part of why it does is because they're good friends of mine and I don't want to start drama with them just because I don't share their hate of some aspects of the series.

Ooooh... I just watched most of Sailor Moon S to see this couple and although the plot of almost every single episode makes me want to bang my head against the wall, I'll still watch them again for the merest glimpse of Haruka and Michiru. I love them :)

I do wish some people who don't like 'yaoi' pairings would stop tarring all fans with the same brush. I'm also tired of feeling I have to justify my inclinations when it comes to pairings.
