17. BS. I've played all the FF games up to date (Including FFXI and the 'not mainstream' FFs, like FFX-2 and FFT) and I thought FFXII was one of the most boring FF games to date. It's not because I didn't understand it's oh so deep story (Which, personally, isn't that deep, but it's not that shallow either), but the characters are as dull as dirt. When you can kick out half the main cast and not notice that they're missing, something is very wrong.

And no, my favorite FF is FFVI, and my favorite SE game goes to Xenogears. Sorry, but Xenogears' story and characters knock FFXII's out of the water. I'll take games like Valkyrie Profile, Odin Sphere (Which had an awesome story), or an Atlus game (DDS and Persona 3 ftw) over FFXII any day.

Seriously, there are much better games than FFXII, but don't get any of the attention it deserves.

Looks like FFXII is becoming the FFVII of the 'next generation', in my opinion (omg, if you dun like FFVII, you just DIDN'T get it!). /eyeroll

17. Much as I like VII, I die a little inside when someone gets overly defensive when oh mon dieu someone says they did not like the game! Which is the same reaction I see from fans of VI, VIII, and X. Personal taste, guys. Everyone has it differently.

Xenogears was good, although I can't help but wish it had actually been, you know, finished. And I hated gear battles. SO FUCKING MUCH. Sadly I have zero interest in Valkyrie Profile. Atlus games FTW though. How is Odin Sphere? I never ended up buying it because I couldn't see any reason beyond the graphics that I might like it.

39. Yeah, I think it's completely how he is an actor which is generally what I find attractive in general. He's a skinny dork, but I find him strangely gorgeous -- actually, the skinny dork part is probably part of what I find attractive.

If someone had shown me a picture of him years ago before I had ever seen him in anything, I probably wouldn't have given him a second glance.

3: Err, I'm kinda wondering why that one Akuroku secret is in that one. I remember it and I didn't think it was coming off at all as offensive towards 'yaoi fangirls' or fans of the series in general. I thought it was just the person saying they didn't like the pairing and didn't really see it, no malice involved. Hmmm.
22: I agree, actually. I love Yuuko but over the course of the series, she hasn't had a whole lot of development. Really all that's happened is that she's helped everyone else and the stage has been set for something big to happen with her but as it stands now, she still hasn't gotten far. She's just hot. Himawari and Sakura have had far more development and have far more appealing personalities.

I'm not trying to tell people they shouldn't like her. Clearly, she is interesting in many ways, but at the same time, I feel that she isn't as awesome as everyone thinks, and I'm sick of being harassed for not liking her.

27. ... eww, this is why I'm glad that the majority of my interaction with that fandom comes from my friends. OMG, Martha's getting in the way of the JackxDoctor love, whatever will the fangirls do?

Martha was awesome and I'd like to point out that every time Jack gets close to the Doctor the world as we know it almost ends.

As you said, the Doctor loves them all. That's why the endless debating over companions and such is just so redundantly stupid.

39. I think David Tennant is kind of an acquired taste. I've found him strangely gorgeous for a few years now, but part of that is I like him as an actor. Others who fall into this category are Edward Norton and Gary Oldman, so I dunno what that says about my taste either. Generally, I think it's the talent I find sexy. Shakespearean actor with a tiny bit of an oral fixation whose not afraid to completely sob on stage, oh yes please. But yeah, he's an acquired taste more or less.

My best friend likes to point out the fact that he really doesn't have a chin, which is true, though she finds him equally gorgeous.

Yeah but my point is that it's unfair to assume that just because you, as an artist, would love seeing your work on an icon, all other artists would. (Especially Japanese fanartists, the ones most frequently icon'd, who actually have an entire page devoted to explaining that most of them don't like it.) And I see this argument too often. :/

Fran/Adrian is my OTP like whoa, but I have a huge soft spot for Fran/Maya for the reasons you said--Maya allows Fran to act her age, and if there's anybody emotionally resilient / possibly patient enough to deal with emotionally stunted/damaged Franzy, it's Maya or Adrian. It doesn't even have to be romantic; just the two of them being friends would be adorable beyond belief.
