so is this a headcanon that Fluttershy is Native? someone drawing her as Native for fun? appropriation? I'm not sure what is going on here.

Is it considered Not Okay to draw someone in Native traditional wear if the artist isn't Native? (Is that an accurate depiction of the garb for a particular tribe? does it make a difference if it is?)

All of these are honest questions. I honestly don't know a whole hell of a lot about the social politics surrounding Native Americans and appropriation. I'm curious as to what exactly is going on.

(Also, like someone else asked: how do you know this person is friends with a pedophile? I want the deets come on)

I'm pretty sure I know who runs that blog. They're fifteen, have four "alters" and claim to be "genderflux, between agender and female." and present "between transnull and feminine so i label myself as femflux or abvene."

What I don't get is this: Why would people dogpile that artist for that drawing (and other ones, apparently), when heavily progressive-leaning fan artists on Tumblr draw/racebend/interpret certain non-human characters in manners similar to that, in which those come off as more heavy-handed and horribly stereotypical than Fluttershy here?

Or is it just because they dislike that particular artist that it suddenly makes this "problematic"/not okay?

I'm torn about that style. On one hand, it is polished and stylized and very unique. On the other hand, I'm finding it hideous.

After going through most of the links on that "receipts" page, the people who come off like atrocious human beings are the people running the blog. Like holy fuck, the way they've twisted seemingly everything this poor girl has done to the point where it's blatant slander, and then megaphoned it out over tumblr is disgusting. THOSE are the people I want to stay the fuck away from. This zamii person just seems...like a somewhat naive girl with perhaps not the best judgment? (If she truly did knowingly support and remain friends with a pedophile, then yeah, that's fucked up. But the fact that she apparently didn't drop him the very instant someone told her what he was is hardly surprising, given the way the word "pedophile" has been getting inappropriately thrown around in fandom lately.)

And as a long time X-Phile, can I just say how nauseating it was to see the mods who run that "receipts" blog referring to each other as Mulder and Scully. Leave Moose and Squirrel out of it, you vile, bullying cretins! Ugh.
