Anyway, seriously, just tell the dude that he's bothering you and it's making you upset. Going back to the ice cream shop metaphor I used a few days ago, he keeps shoving a spoon full of his favorite flavor in your face and telling you to have some. Now all you wanna do is smack the spoon to the floor and possibly punch him.
Sooooooooo... yeah, I guess being very clear and honest that you have no interest and want him to 100% stop being a walking advertisement.

Don't let anyone pressure you into spending your time on something you don't care about; there are too few hours in the day.
And honestly, your friend sounds pretty irritating; he doesn't seem to know when to give up, so I think you need to flat out say, “I'm not going to try this thing because I don't want to."
OP Here
(Anonymous) 2015-10-15 12:33 am (UTC)(link)He's a great friend, so I guess I just don't want to hurt his feelings because he loves that damn series so freaking much.

(Anonymous) 2015-10-15 12:07 am (UTC)(link)I know it seems rude and you might offend him but if it bothers you that much then you have to assert yourself.

Don't let anyone pressure you into something you don't like, because at the end of the day, not everyone's going to like the same things. People are just different and each and every one has different interests.
Honestly, your friend sounds rather irritable, because your friend seems like the type that doesn't take "no" for an answer.

(Anonymous) 2015-10-15 02:21 am (UTC)(link)I don't mean you should profess to love it or anything. But if he loves it, he'd probably really appreciate watching it with you sometimes, or just talking about it with you. Unless your friend is not the sort of person to ever return the favor.
I think part of maintaining adult friendships is making an effort to support your friends interests. So like, I won't watch GoT with my friend because I really dislike it, but I will watch Covert Affairs with her even though I find it boring. But she watches X-Files with me, so it's a trade off.

I passionately love Danny Phantom, but I don't expect my friends to pick it up and follow it just so I can talk to them about it.

(Anonymous) 2015-10-15 02:48 am (UTC)(link)Just like you, I have a friend who's really into One Piece, so I gave it a chance to 1) the official translation 2) the fan scanlation 3) the anime (subbed).
I got bored with all of them, so I gave up and then I made the mistake of saying that when someone else reced me One Piece.
The result was pretty much the same things you mention: that person and their friends decided to go over and over about how I should give it another chance and then, to make thing worse, some of them decided to shit on the stuff I like to ~prove~ the only reason I didn't like One Piece was my shitty taste and that needed to be fixed.
And that's the reason I despise One Piece, which hasn't changed because every time I meet a One Piece fan they always insist on how great it's and how I should give it a (or another, if I say I already did) chance.
I swear no other fandom has so many fans that can't accept a "I don't care about you favorite anime".
