not!secrets 2. I've read the book for I Am Legend, and personally prefer the movie. Making the monsters less human (or less like vampires in general) made it that much easier to fear them. When the monsters talk and try to seduce you, it's a LOT easier to live with the possibility of being one of them imo.

I have a huge problem with the movie because its message is 100% opposite the book's meaning, and a million times happier. The whole point of the book, in my opinion, is not in how "scary" or not the "monsters" are, but in the ironic and sad realization/twist at the very ending.

The movie is not without merit and if people enjoyed it, great, but compared to the book it feels to me like just another "guy all alone after apocalypse fights loneliness and a bunch of zombies oh no will he save what's left of the world from the scary monsters wtfbbq" action flick. It was very well done for what it was, but the book was much more profound (if depressing) for me. Oh, the the fact that the meaning of the title is so different in each version is hilarious!

40. Well... speaking as a die-hard Phoenix fan, I can see how some of his actions could come off as jerk-ish. There are a lot of things he's naive and/or ignorant about and when he speaks of them, his lack of knowledge doesn't put him in the best light.

That being said, I don't think he's a jerk. He just has a lot of growing to do. It's one of the reasons I love him so. ♥ Protagonists with flaws FTW!

[Edit] I felt I should specify that I'm talking about PW1-3 Phoenix. I haven't complete AJ yet, but Phoenix seems neither ignorant nor naive.

21. Well, if you want to participate in fandom, you should. You can't really worry too much about what people will think. There will always be people who won't like or agree with your writing and whatnot. I think the best pairings have at least some basis in canon, but hey, it's fantasy so play around with it. Quite a few people in the fandom write unconventional or unlikely pairings. If you write Aizen/Uryuu, you'd have a few people try it out, in my opinion.
