I do write, but the majority (like 99%) of the fandom just prefers writing the men...sometimes I feel so alone... ;_; the women need some loving too!

I'm not a BNF, but I have internet friends who I love dearly who say they were attracted to my lively personality.

In real life, at the time I started my lj, I was shy and really sullen. On lj, I let the hyperactive all-joy capslocking side of myself that I'd always been afraid to show people out. And people liked it, and talked to me, and you know? Over time, the two sides of me merged, and now there are real life people who know how keyboardpoundingly happy about life I can be and there are plenty of internet people who know what a sullen bitch I can be sometimes. It's been downright healthy.

It probably helps that I don't think of my friends as minions, though. Jesus.

1. I have a lot of friends who are into slash, but they respect that fact that I'm not into it and we talk about other things. But I did once have a friend who kept shoving her OTP in my face and bashing mine/bashing me for liking it, and it was just impossible to talk to her anymore without getting pissed off, so I defriended her. I hope that's not the case with your friends. If it is, I can't say I blame you.

55. ITA. My friends (who all love the series) tell me it gets really good if I just read more, but you shouldn't have to slog through a 300-page first book before a series gets "good."

About the movie casting--I totally see your point, but as someone who doesn't have anything invested in the books, watching Twilight fen freak out over the casting is hilarious.

I think so, but we once had a discussion about what the dynamics would be in a romantic relationship between just about every main or semi-main character in the series (yes, we were bored and probably do have too much time on our hands!)

Jen/Richmond was mocked slightly less than Richmond/Roy, and slightly more than Douglas/Moss (the latter of which broke MY brain)

28. Agreed kind of. I don't think all CLAMP series are the best ever, but I enjoy their work alot, and my favorite manga is one of theirs. I also enjoy works like Moyashimon, Honey and Clover, Nodame Cantabile, and Oofuri. Just cause I really enjoy CLAMP does not mean that I don't see the merit in the other series you mentioned. It's all a matter of taste really.

28. Hmmm. You know, obsessing about something doesn't mean you think it's of great quality. I obsess more about CLAMP than FMA, even though I think FMA is better. I'm still ridiculously obsessed with Harry Potter and I don't think it's the Greatest Series Ever. Some works are just a lot of fun for fandom purposes, regardless of their objective quality.

10. I can slightly associate with you. I'm not a huge fan of smoking in real life, but I ultimately no problem with it since I accept people's choices and know people who smoke frequently. I've also smoked in the past. However when it comes to fandom, I really like guys (or girls) who smoke. I think it's attractive and sexy and such a cool character trait. And if I hated smoking, I'd end up hating Sanji from One Piece, as he is a chain-smoker. DDD:

20. Holy crap SECONDED. I get so irritated with fans who are practically obsessed with seeing their OTPs or favorite pairings as canon, or going as far as to saying it's canon. Sometimes it's SO GLARINGLY OBVIOUS IT'S NOT CANON, AND NEVER WILL BE CANON, and I want to smack them over the head and yell at them. Wishful thinking is one thing, but GET A REALITY CHECK. Dear god. Whether a pairing is canon or not has no effect on how much you like it or not. If it's canon, it's canon and you still like it. If it's purely fantasy ship, you'll still like it. THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE.

This is partially the reason why my love for Kuro/Fai/Kuro is dwindling, because a seemingly large portion of the fan base that likes the pairing either thinks it's canon or will be canon. I know what cock-teases Clamp are, but I am about 100% sure this pairing will not happen.

tl;dr
YOU'LL STILL LIKE A PAIRING WHETHER IT'S CANON OR NOT, SO STOP GETTING YOUR HOPES UP FOR NOTHING.
