Not the OP, but I know no one really cares if I like yaoi or not. And I do like the occasional yaoi fanfic.

But sometimes I do feel a little left out when nearly everyone is saying "Hey, wouldn't ____ be so much better with some mansex in it?" and I'm looking to see if there are any women in _____ because I like female characters better. (Which maybe isn't even what the secret means and the secret is just about yaoi manga; I don't know.)

It's not that they're wrong or I am, but I do feel like I'm weird sometimes for not getting the appeal. It doesn't really matter though, if people are enjoying it then, hey, good for them.

If the pic is related, Finns are weirded out that anybody would be interested in our land but generally you will never find a Finn who won't be keen on explaining our linguistic quirks or cultural things or whatever. I mean, I personally really dislike most Finnish music and still you can get me to talk about 90's Finnish eurotrash or HIM or Finnish Idol contestants. :P

So yeah, start asking her stuff, questions or if you don't wanna bother her, join one of LJ's Finland-related communities and talk to people there. It's a rare Finn who hates his/her homeland so much they wouldn't want to discuss it at all.

14. I've tried that, too. The very first convention I went to, I ended up kind of sort of being with someone, but it turned out that he kind of had a girlfriend already and I was the "other girl", and things got really really nasty from there.
