8) A bit premature to be mourning the death of a show that's been reupped for a new season. Personally I hope it hasn't reached it's peak yet.

34) There's nothing like a conversation about sexism, racism or any number of other automatic wank tickets to utterly suck any trace of fun out of fandom. Yeah there's a whole lot of shitty things about society, and yes they get reflected unconsciously in canon, but IMO these conversations about these flaws never actually amount to anything other than an passive aggressive attempt to make people feel guilty about liking a show. I mean, honestly, what can anyone say. "Omg, there's some sexism in my show! -- therefore... uh... snickerdoodle anyone?" We aren't going to start a letter writing campaign over a show we enjoy as is.

I think people who want to start these conversations should go watch some anime and learn to put it in perspective.

And those of us who like the show, but would like it better if it was less sexist/racist/whatnot? Or those of us who feel alienated because we enjoy the show but the prejudice bothers us? We're not allowed to talk about how it hurts.

I think I know where you're coming from.

The show had such potential, but it didn't really do anything with it. Not to mention the fact that lots of characters were introduced for a single plot purpose (or to be someone's boyfriend) and as a result are defined solely by that plot or girl.

Except Mirta. She managed to escape that fate by having her own story going on somewhere in the background.

But that's all besides the point.

Thing is, yeah, the show has flaws. Lots of 'em. But that never stopped me from writing some fic.

If you know where I can find some good Darcy smut I'd love you forever. Or, hell, any stories about the Trix being actually useful. Because they seriously vacillate between "actual threat" and "total jokes".

Giving concrit for out votes used to be a lot more common, but there was this sense that they were too bitchy for explaining their out votes before being asked. 'Cause it might lead to other voters being influenced by those explanations. Hence why now people say to ask if you want the explanation.

And if you ask and get no response, I'd wager it's more because players are tired or busy (remember voting gets done with in a weekend, while before it was done with in a week) than because they're bitter. Tbh, if one's bitter about anything they can come up with more reasons to vote out than if they're just voting on instinct. Heh.

I'm pretty sure we all know the whole process is nerve-wracking, and we're definitely paying more attention to be kind to the appers than, say, a few months or a year ago. We may slip sometimes, but we're only human.

I gotta say, though, that congratulating themselves that a player is n hiatus because that means more 100% ins? Comes across as bitter and bitchy too.
