Kingdom Hearts made stereotypes of ALL of them, even Cloud. Even then, Aerith wasn't a Mary Sue, moreso flat as were the others. You must not know the correct definition of a Mary Sue. Their original counterparts are much deeper, so if you can not give it a chance, then you're missing out.

34- I couldn't concentrate either... because I knew some of my friends were watching and I wasn't looking forward to trying to explain Jack's burial and the actor they chose to play Gray and the random shot of Owen on the roof during John's speech (when he was meant to still be with the Hoix) and everything else that went with that episode.

52.) I write yaoi and adore it, but am more into the darker side when it comes to writing out sex scenes, though admittedly I do love fluff. You know, wanna balance the stories out like real life love would be, whereas I'm positive gay sex isn't always dark and angry. Live action hardcore gay sex is wonderful, however. I just wish I could find more of it that was less oral and more anal. (Oral's fine but anal's better.)

Wow. Okay. Bullet points time, because I can't even begin to address this with paragraphs! (Not that I'm sure everyone else hasn't already, as I smell a troll, but I haven't really ranted on FFVII here lately, so it must be that time again)

• KH VERSIONS ARE AU. Yeah, really. Original games Squall and Cloud aren't as mopey as often. Sephiroth actually has more than three lines. They get a lot more screentime, and thus actually have DEVELOPMENT and complexity.
  
  And can you guess who else ALSO gets way more complexity, development, and interesting traits to them in their original game? Yeah. Aerith. She's not a mary sue. Play the damn game before you judge, plz.
  
  FF characters in KH are a series of cameos, nothing more. They're there for the previous fans to enjoy, not for you to judge based on.



• Cloud/Aerith isn't canon. Yeah, I know. Crazy, right? A videogame where the hero/heroine ship isn't canon? Well, yeah. Habeeb it.
  
  Neither is Cloud/Tifa, while we're on the matter. Or Cloud/Yuffie, Sephiroth/Cloud, Cloud/Red, or Ifalna/Cloud (oh man, does someone ship that? Please tell me someone ships that). Pretty cool, huh? It was left ambiguous on purpose. You can ship whatever you damn well please with Cloud. I prefer Mukki/Cloud, but that's another story entirely. theirloveissohottubdubcon
  
  So yeah. Shipwars aside, you don't have to ship it. Norly.



• She dies like halfway through. IT'S LIKE HALFWAY THROUGH THE FUCKING GAME. SUCK IT UP. She's actually really great in your party. The first time I played the game, I was 12, and a fanbrat from hell. I thought she was stupid and frilly, and I was still upset to lose her from my party. But you can always just be petty and not use her. This is FF, after all, you can always be petty and refuse to use a character as long as they're not the main one. I think I killed Wakka whenever I had to use him in FFX, just because he irrationally annoyed me.



• You and I have vastly different ideas of mary sues.
  
  I don't know what bodily crevace the idea that Aerith is a mary sue came from, but you might want to jam it back in there before you approach the fandom. You want a mary sue white mage, there's plenty of them in RPGs. Aerith? Not really one of them.
  
  Sure, if you approach the game with all the maturity of a 12 year old fanbrat, completely disregard the fact that she's fucking amazing, and view the game with the bias of "she's getting in the way of my hot sephywephykins/cloudybaby buttsex omg unf unf" then uh... yeah. I guess she can come off as a mary sue. I know I thought so. But as you might have guessed, I deserved to have been killed before I was allowed internet access at that time. What's your excuse?

I've dropped the manga a long time ago (the characters aren't the only things that are bad in it...) but the last time I checked, all she did was get ready to fight Jiraiya only for Pein to shove her aside and fight him instead. Does she even have a personality?

30. I actually agree. Squall was always an annoying prick to me, and I hated him even more than Rinoa (who the whole fandom seems to want to burn). But I can't deny that he's hot, especially in the FMV's.

50. I seriously don't know where to begin with this secret. First of all, Kingdom Hearts rapes the characterization's of ALL the Final Fantasy characters (Setzer, anyone?). Judging that she's a Mary Sue when she barely gets any screen time is a big no-no. Second, she has a very different personality in FFVII, and her romantic relationship with Cloud is not even 100% canon (what do you think all the Cloud/Aeris vs. Cloud/Tifa debates are for, anyway?). Don't be so quick to make assumptions before playing the official game.

Don't know about Kingdom Hearts because I lost interest halfway through, but in the original FF7 well...

She is spunky. She is the last of her kind and she also has a weird power to "hear" the planet. She also ends up becoming a (somewhat) angel/god-like figure after her death and is able to cure everyone of Geostigma in Advent Children.
So she does have potential Sue-ish traits if you want to see it that way. Or if you don't want to, or if you just want to leave her out of your party altogether and use someone else instead.
Someone as cool as Cloud though? Ehh, you might re-think that once you play FF7 and get to see how messed up and emo and such he can get. It's less 'cool' and more 'he spends the biggest portion of the game finding out that his personality isn't even HIS OWN' deal.

Aerith isn't half as Sue-ish as Micaiah from FE10 though. My goodness I need to start playing that game again.
