Because misery loves company. Congested as hell, everything hurts, and I'm coughing so much I'm starting to get muscle cramps in my back... who else sick? What're you doing to distract yourself? I'm hazily watching old Bob Hope flicks and realizing how much more ridiculous they are than I remember.

Me. We had such up and down weather all fucking week. Start of the week was 50s, then we hit the 30s/40s + rain, and today is freakin' 80 with a low of 60.

I hate living in the South.

As for distractions, mainly games and watching stuff.

I feel like it. Went to bed at 5pm yesterday. Slept until 7. Very tired and groggy. But probably just over exerted myself earlier on Sunday. A lot.

Still. So tired and headache.

My mom's had lingering stuff since Christmas. :( She got mostly better, but still had a bad cough for all of January, and it's just turned into another bad cold. I might be getting this one, I've had a sore throat the last 2 days. Hoping it's not more than that.

So far so good I'm enjoying this series! You're right anon, it's nothing like Harry Potter. I was wondering why everyone kept telling me that then I read the recommendations on the back comparing it to Harry Potter joining the fuzz. Lol.

Not finished yet but do you think it'd be worth it getting the rest of the series? It seems the kind of story I can go either way with unless it ends on a cliffhanger.

Was walking my dog with vegan girl and we went to the uni cause it's picturesque right? She said she hoped to avoid her fellow students while I laughed and said I only had one person to avoid (the very unkind gaslighting friend you all helped me get the guts to cut off nearly 2 years back)

Welp on our way out we ran into that ex friend! It was very awkward and stilted. We left because our car parking metres were due and her presence upset my dog (great excuse)!

It was so awkward it was funny, especially when my friend said "was that...?" And I said yes then we giggled a lot.

Tldr running into exfriend I ghosted on wasn't as bad as I dreaded but incredibly awkward to the point of hilarious. So I'm sharing it and hoping to hear your awkward stories that were awkward to the point of hilarious.

Is there a way to disengage?

Is there a way to politely disengage conversation with someone who is mentally disabled and doesn't read cues?

So, at the shelter where I volunteer, there is this one young girl who comes in. She's clearly disabled in some way. And she's latched on to me. And likes to talk. A lot. Loudly. Which I'm totally willing to engage with to a point. But when I need to go, I never know how to disengage. I try to say I have to go, but she starts talking again. I don't want to hurt her feelings.

how to write original stories?

I write a lot of fanfic that doesn't get a lot of notice but what it does get is VERY WELL RECEIVED. Sometimes I think I'd like to write original stuff but...I just can't seem to. Like, I can tell great stories in a world that exists with characters people know, but I don't know how to make characters or even plots that can live on their own.

It's disheartening.
