I'm kinda late b/c I haven't been checkin' my livejournal lately. Oops.

The reason why he's not as iconic as the "stupid mouse" you speak of so fondly, is because Mick's been here since the 1920's, and this little guy (however cute he may be) has been here since the 1960's. Also, from what I gather, this little guy is targeted towards children - Mickey Mouse was not just for children back when he was created. I can understand your frustration with the pop idol thing that Disney has going on, but really.

6 - I shipped Bella/Alice and Edward/Jasper for a while. Overall, I'm as multi-shipper for Twilight. The series isn't great enough for the characters to be deep enough that I really care about who they end up with, if that makes any sort of sense. :P

30 - Wow, I stopped reading Nana at, like, chapter 15 or something. I just couldn't get into it. *shrugs*

34 - OMG, I loved Lyra/Will! TGC is so well-written and compelling.

35 - I seriously doubt Eva has any sort of happy ending. But I can forgive b/c of canon yaoi.

38 - Shaman King was great. I absolutely love it so far. Can't wait to finish reading/watching it! ^_^*

43 - I never considered this before. Too funny.

55 - I so loved the Uglies series. It was so original and I loved the characters. I completely saw the whole Tally/Shay thing, although I liked the canon couples too.

57 - But HBP was like a fanfic itself! :P

68 - Yeah, the whole point of Twilight is to insert yourself in Bella's place so that you get with a hot vampire. She's such a Sue. But I think you'd need to really plan out a lot of elements of your original story for it to play out like that: after all, there are plenty of original stories that could, or possibly should, have great fandoms and get hugely popular but don't. It's hard to figure out.

78 - I get ticked off at my friends when they say they don't like FF, but then we talk about other things. Unless it's the only fandom your friends are in, it shouldn't be TOO big of a deal.

06 - Like another poster said, Alice/Bella is totally subtexty. The best part is taking lines out of context. I was reading "New Moon" the other day, and I think I convinced my sister with lines from the part where Jacob told Bella they couldn't be friends if she hung out with vampires. And then Bella said (and I totally went and got my copy of the book out so I could quote verbatim): "You'll still be my friend, even though I love Alice, too?" And Jacob says, "I'll always be your friend, no matter who you love", etc, etc. (Although I think Jasper and Alice are kind of cute together, and the most/the only interesting characters in the book, I think Bella/Alice is totally there, and I ship them, hard.)

55 - Um, yay, Uglies secret! I totally shipped Tally/Shay starting with the first book, when they were hiding out. There was one line that totally stuck out to me: something about Tally lying down to sleep next to Shay, but they didn't get to sleep for a long time. I must have had my goggles on then, because I totally shipped them from then on.
