5 - As the OP of that secret I have to say LMAO + YAY. Do you actually like it? Really I think watching the OVAs first and then reading it is better, but that's just me.
13 - I'm not a huge Bonten fan either, and I definitely don't ship him with Toki. You're not the only one dont worry.

02. Join the club. I definitely want to see Dark Knight because of Aaron Eckhart. I loved Thank You For Smoking and I'm sure that he'll do a brillant job at it.

45. I might be messing this up but I'm assuming that's Peter Jackson and you're talking about the Hobbit. I didn't mind Jackson as the director of the LotR movies but I'm SO glad he's not doing Hobbit and del Toro is. The Hobbit was the one of the novels that I actually enjoyed. I know that del Toro will do a much better job and I'm looking forward to this.

64. I remember that episode of Winnie the Pooh! I never liked Rabbit until that episode. After that, he became my favorite character. That episode made me cry so much!

3- Gurren Lagann is kind of the reason I actually started paying attention in Biology class. I'm sorry you can't find anyone to talk about the deeper themes of GL with. I feel your pain.

41- I feel the same about my art. Originality has it's downside too; people will dismiss your art if they don't like your style. I think this is a reason why people draw so generically when they have oodles of talent.

63- I spent 3 years with someone like that. I was geniunely frightened for my safety at times. Especially when she ripped a manga in half when I said I didn't find a certain character "bishie".

70- YES. I AGREE WITH THIS 100%! *highfive* He's such a sweetie, I just want to protect him from all the world.

64. Aww. I cried during Jurassic Bark too. I think that the Futurama episodes you mentioned really changed my outlook on the show; after watching those, I didn’t see it as just another funny cartoon series.

67. I’d only seen a couple eps of this show, so I was surprised to find out from here that Taye Diggs was on it! I think he's great, so that kinda makes me want to watch more of it now, even though I know what will happen :(

68. I feel like I can’t really judge Twilight yet because I haven’t read it, but it does sound pretty bad (at least, regarding plot and characters). Bad enough to make me feel slightly better as a writer in comparison, so I agree with your secret.

We hardly ever got to see her after she turned into her real form, apart from the fact that she chose to end contact between the two realms in order to spare them both. yes, that was a sacrifice on her part (says I), but does that mean that now, she's some superselfsacrifical weepy shoujo heroine who never thinks of herself and always helps other people out of the woobieness of her heart? 53. You think Nomura would PREVENT Kojima from getting too pretentious? I mean, sure, perhaps Nomura puts fanservice ahead of portraying a message, but he's still kinda up there in pretentiousness himself. Also, I kinda doubt it's Nomura behind the choreography. I mean... he doesn't actually control that facet of the games, does he? I think that's the animators responsibility, I doubt Nomura himself drew the storyboards.

That isn't to say I wouldn't salivate like a rabid dog if they DID make a game together though. I just don't think it would be the way you think it would be.

Everyone's been telling me after posting that secret that the fandom isn't big enough to have ship wars. Thank goodness.
I just felt awkward after seeing all this "Ooh, Bonten is pretty!" and wondering if it was okay for me to like this show if I wasn't that impressed by him.

37. a) A lot of people didn't necessarily have a problem with LiveJournal deciding they didn't want that material, but with the way LJ went about getting rid of it and responding (or rather not) to fandom.

b) There's a little bit of a difference between ambiguous ages (I don't recall Strikethrough being about rape) and using the eradication of an entire race/religion/group as fun.

c) Fanfiction and other fanworks can be a way of examining a lot of things, or it can be a way of working through your own past -- it's usually not for me, but during Strikethough a lot of people talked about how they weren't writing from the teacher's POV, for example, but from the student's, because they had been molested as a child. It could be argued that fanfiction is actually valuable in that sense.

The Kristallnacht RPG didn't do that. It had nothing to do with the Holocaust or anything related to that time period. It took place half a decade later and it was about a bunch of "hardcore" Slytherins who posted about how their life sucked and they wanted to shag French boys. Not the same thing.

d) The response to Kristallnacht RPG was an attempt to self-police. No one was censoring the makers of the RPG.

Bottom line: no one, as far as I saw, objected to possibly, hypothetically calling an RPG Kristallnacht. The objections came to that particular RPG, its subject in relation to the name, and how the mods handled the objections. And I fully support that.
