76 - ME, TOO. WTF.

[identity profile] flutingfrenzy.livejournal.com 2008-05-11 04:50 am (UTC)(link)
06. Actually, I didn't know until you said so, because you didn't use that book cover.

64. Your Pooh example reminded me of the Simpsons episode that made me cry: when Bart had those baby birds that turned out to be, like, dinosaurs or whatever, and then they started destroying the city, so the city officials were going to kill them, and they had Bart imprisoned or something (it's been a LONG time since I've seen the episode, so I don't remember this part exactly). Bart says to Marge, "Everybody thinks they're really bad, but I raised them, and I loved them!" and Marge has this moment of identification with him. Oh man, I'm tearing up just thinking about it.

60. Holy fuck, does St Trinian's have a fandom? DIRRECT ME PLZ.
71. I have to admit, seeing them interact made me ship it a little too.

64

[identity profile] alpha-orionis-v.livejournal.com 2008-05-11 04:55 am (UTC)(link)
I cry, without fail, at The Sting (the one with the bee that stings Leela), The Luck of the Fryrish (Fry's brother), and Jurassic Bark (Seymour). The Devil's Hands are Idle Playthings gets me a bit choked up, too.

P.S. 01:

[identity profile] zidane.livejournal.com 2008-05-11 05:02 am (UTC)(link)
Thanks to this secret, I tracked down the song, and I love it. Thank you!

[identity profile] lunarkitten.livejournal.com 2008-05-11 05:28 am (UTC)(link)
64. What about this one (see icon)? ;_; I cry at it all the time. I also cry at "Mother Simpson," "Homer's Triple Bypass," and "Luck of the Fryrish." But for some reason, I don't cry about Fry's dog. And that's really weird, because I'm such an animal lover.

70. Me too! Butters reminds me so much of myself as a kid. Every time he starts crying, especially in the Super Fun Time episode, I want to pick him up and hug him so badly. :( I'm considering hunting down one of the Butters dolls from a few years ago for that.

26. This secret is SO MUCH WIN. See, I was just talking about studying for my history final to my mom, and how Wilson's advisor's name was Edward House, and how I was laughing for ten minutes about how excellently perfect that was. (I ship it, too. :x)

Seriously, this secret is so cool, it gets it's own comment. I ♥ you, Anon.

40. PLEASE DEAR LORD DON'T LET ZACH EFRON PLAY LINK. ;_;

76. That movie still scares me. Watching the horse sink into the quicksand = early childhood trauma. o_o

38

[identity profile] thornsmoke.livejournal.com 2008-05-11 05:45 am (UTC)(link)
WORD.

Of course, Takei's finishing the manga soon, so who knows? It might get a bit more attention.

[identity profile] callmejude.livejournal.com 2008-05-11 05:46 am (UTC)(link)
6. ...that's just too amazing. If I weren't faithful to Jasper/Alice simply because they're the only two characters I like in the series, I'd totally ship it.

55. Uglies/Pretties secret! :o!!

64. I have a major history with The Luck of the Fryrish, and why that one makes me cry (not just cry, by the by, but cry with heaving, loud, obnoxious sobs, but I also gotta agree that the bee sting one, the concert one, and the one with Fry's dog all make me cry as well. Also, the Simpsons makes me cry with the episode where Bart and Lisa are on seperate hockey teams (it's the end that does it), and the one where Maggie calls Homer 'daddy'. And god, I wish I could say that those are the only cartoons that make me cry, but I've also been known to cry at Invader Zim, FMA (every god damn episode), and the South Park movie...WOW, I rant.

70. Because Butters is fantastic.

55

[identity profile] possessedpink.livejournal.com 2008-05-11 07:12 am (UTC)(link)
I love me some Uglies series buds ;D if you know what I mean.

[identity profile] comixologist.livejournal.com 2008-05-11 06:01 am (UTC)(link)
I love me some Scott Westerfeld, and I do wish he had a bigger fandom, but man, I thought So Yesterday and the Midnighters books were way better than Uglies/Pretties/Specials/Extras. :( I hear you on wanting fic, though.

I totally want Midnighters-fic. CLEARLY THERE SHOULD BE A WESTER-FIC COMM OR SUMMAT. :D

Re: 55

[identity profile] possessedpink.livejournal.com 2008-05-11 07:11 am (UTC)(link)
Those books didn't look/sound that interesting to me upon a glance ( I didn't read the back in case I read it later. The backs often have whole book spoilers xD ) Are they future civilization books at all? I seem to have a huge infatuation with future-society stories.

His writing is really good regardless c:
That and the need for fic is desperate for any of his works.

I was wondering about that, too.
I don't think she would, because I didn't think she had time, and I didn't think it was really a secret. She kinda told everyone.
But maybe it's her. I'm stumped.

13. As people keep saying, DON'T BE AFRAID. COME. And I didn't even know that anyone ships Bonten with ANYONE XD

[identity profile] headswedance.livejournal.com 2008-05-11 06:24 am (UTC)(link)
39. OMG, I never realized that Young Simon was Zac Efron. Ew.

64. Ok, the Futurama episode with Fry's dog made me BAWL.

38

[identity profile] smilbe.livejournal.com 2008-05-11 06:42 am (UTC)(link)
Why the heck did the Mankin manga come to an abrupt conclusion anyway? I heard it was due to the lack of popularity...but seriously, surely Mankin isn't inferior to Naruto and Bleach?

Re: 38

[identity profile] weaselistic.livejournal.com 2008-05-11 10:34 am (UTC)(link)
Popularity and quality are different things.
The way that Shaman King dragged on for a long time, I can see how many Jump readers would have lost interest along the way. I don't remember where the storylines of Naruto or Bleach were at the time that Shaman King ended, so I can't comment on which series was better in comparison.
The only thing I remember is that Shaman King spent its last weeks way at the back of the magazine (where roughly, the popular series are in the front, the unpopular ones in the back, determined by voting postcards sent in by the readers).

I remember reading that Takei was asked to wrap the story up in a certain number of weeks, but he didn't, since he wanted to do the ending properly. (I don't know how valid that is.) It took a few years, but he will get to do his ending now in the special edition rerelease. That probably won't turn Shaman King into a megahit again (though it might boost Takei's new project), but it will make the fans happy at least.

Can I recommend the /azu/ boaud over on Wakachan? Really, you're not the only one to ship it (as opposed to my lonely little Chiyo/Osaka boat).

T!B 1 -- I'm not sure how much you know about Zettai Kareshi, but in the manga, she is nowhere near as mean to Night (his name in the manga)/Knight (his name in the drama) as she is in the drama. They changed a bunch of things, and Riiko's meanness towards him is one of them. When Night does things for Riiko in the manga, she's more flattered and embarrassed because she's never had those things done for her. She never really yelled at him for trying to be nice to her, or trying to be what she wanted. Manga!Riiko would NEVER treat him the way drama!Riiko does. (I guess they had to do it to make it more dramatic or something.)

I don't know if you'll want to keep watching, because her behavior towards him gets worse. =.=

[identity profile] soulrockcandy.livejournal.com 2008-05-11 07:16 am (UTC)(link)
I can't help but think all these Mother secrets would have fit better tomorrow. Eh? Ehh? *shot*

4. I don't normally have a thing for Snake but... He is very appealing in that shot I must admit.

14. I would LOVE to see Paula/Tony done. Done well and ICly, preferably, but still done. Dammit, you've intrigued me!

77. I overuse that word and have never seen Dr. Who. D: DUN HATE.

I am curious as to who this anonymous shipper is. Non-canon pairings are one of the things I really like in fanfic -- when done well, they can give you interesting character insights and porn, lol.

And, come on, the Tony/Jeff fandom is tiny. STAND UP, PROUD SHIPPER. WE'RE HERE FOR YOU.
