05. Me too. Star Trek never became so interesting as once they stopped putting all of the focus on the Federation. Or least on the "OMGWEARETHEGOODGUYZZZ!!!" part of it. (I like Section 31. The Federation secretly tortures? Whoa.)

Too bad Voyager and Enterprise turned away from the complex alien civilizations they built in DS9 as well as the techiniques of creating such worlds and went back with the old Star Trek style. Boo.

70. It may not mean you're racist/sexist/etc., but it may mean that you have a blind spot, either from privilege or just from ignorance of the subject. But fandom actually provides a great way to learn about this things, especially as a gateway into more serious learning about it, and if you're interested, I'd take more notice of the discussions that go on.

O_O Jeez, did you have parents who never let you leave the house or something? It's just, I've been homeschooled for the majority of my life (though I'm taking most of my classes at the local community college now), and I can't relate to that at all. So personally, I'm inclined to say that it probably wasn't homeschooling specifically that did it, but maybe lack of social interaction or something similar. It's true that as a homeschooler you have to seek out social interation more than someone who goes to school and is essentially forced to socialize whether they like it or not, but it's usually fairly easy to find open and friendly groups. Either way, I guess it's good that fandom helped you get over that.

47. I liked it, but only for Ryan and Sharpay and maybe 2 songs. It was all horribly cheesy and incited a lot of eye-rolling, but it was still fun to watch to an extent. I actually do enjoy real Broadway, though, thank you.
