If this is who I think it is...

I can't imagine what you're going through. I know it has to be difficult, but what's passed is past. You didn't know those things about him at the time, and the Internet does that to people: it brings out the worst in you, makes you cold, makes you mean. It's easy to make fun of someone behind their back, and to laugh at their insanity when you don't know the full story. Once it all comes out, it almost always shocks and hurts. There's nothing you can do about what you did. But you've grieved and realized your mistake, and that should amount for SOME degree of redemption, I think.

There was no way you could have known all of that about him. I know you may think there is no excuse for how you acted, but think to yourself: what was going through your head, at the time? You thought he was just another crazy fanboy. People in fandom hate on each other and stab each other in the back all the time. He chose to take his own life. You didn't kill him. What you said may have hurt him, but he made that choice because of his fiancee leaving him. Your words were not the final straw. Take that small comfort.

If you had known the truth about him, you would have acted differently. You are not a terrible person for acting as you did. So many others are exactly the same way. People will be mean and laugh because it's easy. I do it, too. There's no use feeling torn up about it, though. It's human nature. You can't change it. You have to move on.

...Like I said, if this is who I think it is, I hope this helps...somehow.

06 - Eighth Doctor is my second most favourite Doctor (after Fivey, of course!) I love how screwed up and confused he was. I cannot understand why New!Who fans refuse to believe he's canon. It's been established in the series! Not only has RTD said Eight is canon, but his face is in the sketchbook in Family of Blood. So neener!

23 - I agree! Although, it's not just her mouth. Her eyes kind of scare me as well. And she has Malfoy eyebrows. She's also so not my favourite New!Who companion.

46 - Someone did not recognise Kensin? I weep! The old Shounen Jump was better. Although, I didn't cry when they got rid of DBZ.

58 - MOSQUITON! If you are not someone I know, then I love you for knowing this series! Mosqui is definitely a fabulous vampire. Especially in the OVA.

13- If you think that, then you don't remember much of early fandom. Trek fandom has *always* been activist. Local fan clubs and even fan run cons always did something charitable or activist. I've been to cons that have had blood drives, cons that were held over Labor Day weekend that collected money and got it to MDA telethon.

Most official fan clubs that are approved by the actors have a club charity.

Yes, we can help save the world, in small parts and person by person, but we can do it.

31. Don't blame yourself, don't don't don't. It's a terrible thing, honey, but it isn't your fault. I feel really bad because I know what a terrible situation you must be in... but there's no way of knowing when internet wank goes from "catty fun" to "crossing the line" in other people's minds, and you can't hold yourself responsible for something he did. If he was in a place where he was willing to take his own life, this wasn't going to change things. If none of that business ever happened at all -- he probably would have been just as depressed and unhappy with life. He made the decision to end things, and left everyone else shocked and horrified. I'm certain that you're not the only person feeling like you could have done things differently. His friends, his enemies, people who were indifferent to him, people who ignored him, classmates, coworkers, family members and loved ones. I'm sure that every one of them was struck and affected and all questioned themselves. The heart of the matter is that he was fundamentally unwell, and chose to kill himself. It's a tragedy that he didn't get help and a sad thing for the people who cared about him -- but it's not your fault. No one thing made him do it. But that being said, it's never too late to reevaluate the way you treat people. If you feel bad that you may have treated him unkindly (wether he deserved it or not) don't let it eat you up inside. Rather, channel those negative feelings into trying to be nicer, kinder and more accepting in the future. It's never too late to give someone else a *GOOD* day. in closing -- you're not a bad person. Your remorse shows a humanity and an empathy. *hug*
