I'm glad Leia's not a Jedi with a lightsaber and I hope Finn doesn't turn out to be a Jedi (or Force-sensative) too.

Agree - I think Leia choosing not to be a jedi but still being force sensitive is way more interesting. Idk, "all of the jedis!" just isn't very interesting to me.

I agree. Is this unpopular? I hope Leia demonstrates some more Force abilities in The Last Jedi, but she's more important where she is. Her role is as important as Luke's. It doesn't matter if the Jedi come back if there is no justice in the galaxy. The Resistance need the Jedi, but the Jedi will need the Resistance too.

On a recent episode of Shadowhunters the Institute Leader half of the canon gay couple lied to his partner about Institute Business. People are mad at IL half for not telling his partner everything that is going on in his life.

And I think that is so fucking stupid. These are people that have obviously never had a friend or family member that worked in a job that required confidentiality.

I don't go here, but I'm gonna agree with this.

Ime, fandom trends towards this idea that couples in a relationship should absolutely never have secrets from one another without accounting for context, and it's just not realistic. It is really annoying though.

So many people in fandom don't get that, or things like military hierarchy, or information security, it drives me up the walls.

Yeah... I've been avoiding the wider fandom for a while now, nuance is not something that this fandom gets tbh. Or storytelling in general since I've seen them complain about the bad guys doing y'know, bad things. (Shocker right??).

But w/e I can't be assed getting involved, I just follow people who reblog pretty shit and stay out of it.

Personally I think they've both got valid points but I'm not like even remotely mad enough on either end to actually fight anyone over it, I just wanna see Magnus and Alec sort it out and I'll be happy.

I did not like the f/f relationship they were pushing for Camille in Stitchers. It was very awkward and forced. And tbh, I always thought her and Linus were in a relationship (I'm not the most vigilant watcher so I guess I missed some stuff).

I don't want Littlefinger to die, I think it'd be more interesting to keep him alive and watch all his dreams get crushed.

Getting spammed with all the Dream Daddy stuff is getting annoying.

From what I've seen of it, it might have been advertised as such a great game for gay men, but looking at it, it feels like a game made by afab tumblr people for afab tumblr people.

I'm not sure if it's unpopular because I haven't touched the fandom for "Will" (newish show loosely based on Shakespeare's life) nor have I any intention to. But as much as I appreciate shows trying to include gay characters, I'm really tired of the "depraved homosexual" trope they keep throwing in there.

The image in Secret #7 is a pretty significant squick.

Bioware's storytelling has always been weak and hammy, with very few real gems.

Shipping and headcanons are not, in themselves, politically significant.

I really couldn't give a shit what other people ship or which characters they like and I will forever be baffled by the people who seem to go looking for what they hate only to complain about finding it. What were you expecting??

Also top/bottom wank is fucking ridiculous and can get really goddamn creepy.

I don't think there is a single GOT male character left alive that I particularly love. Tyrion is okay, but overrated. I'm still in it, but only for the ladies. Also, can I say, I love Arya, but she's starting to creep me out. And I'm not sure I can root for her. She's going too far on the scale from grey to black for me, and while I love her as a character, I'm not sure I can root for her to actually accomplish her goal of killing a whole ton of people.

I think it'd be neat if Yuri on Ice season 2 tackles a homophobia sub-plot. Especially a Russia-centric one.

I dislike a lot of the Dragon Age companions but probably my most unpopular opinion is that I don't like Dorian and I don't think he was well written. Also, I don't find him attractive.

Besides maybe three other people, everyone loves him.

For FFXV:

Luna is an insanely badly-written character at best, and stanning her requires absurd levels of mental gymnastics that are, frankly, not worth it. Also Luna/Noct is a genuinely bad ship.

Prompto is neither a wilting weepy flower, nor is he a SUPER BADASS HRRRR, he is a strong-willed character with some deep-seated issues. He is, however, scrawny as shit. Look at him. He's a twig.

Ignis is a lot more playful than people seem to characterize him. He's not the Super Smart Killjoy just because he wears glasses and has a British accent, guys. He's a weirdo. He grew up basically raising Noct, of course he's a weirdo. Also he's not actually a very good strategist.

I could keep going, but these are my major gripes.

and I do not consider it an objectively bad movie. Attack of the Clones is bad, though.

I hope Rey's parents never get revealed. Lets be honest, after all the fan speculation nothing is going to be satisfying.

I know it probably won't happen because there's nothing the Star Wars PTB love more than filling in every nook and cranny of the universe and making sure somewhere in canon Jar Jar Binks' entire family tree is listed back 50 generations.
