Great movie, just watched it in a class this last year. We had a really interesting class discussion on it for a few days, but it was the last week of class and we had to cut it short before we made any real progress. It was definitely interesting, though.

B-but on topic, yeah they changed a LOT in the anime, like a lot of specifics of what happened, made it way less fanservicey and way more gay, changed when the major characters come in, changed Mutsumi's name and a good chunk of his personality (I am doing a writeup on this theme, actually XD), gave Kururu a pretty different personality (though later in the manga he starts channeling his anime version more- not a beatnik but is instead, um, Koyasu, aka a RAPIST), etc and so on... (They have a good reason for changing Pokopen to Pekopon, at least, as it's illegal to say "Pokopen" on Japanese TV since it's a not-nice name for China, but that's really not the most horrible of changes itself anyway, so. XD)

But I have to say, I love both series. And that's the thing- I think of the Keroro Gunso anime as an alternate, spinoff series. XD Enough changes were made so that's the case! And normally that would annoy me too, but I really like the changes they made in the anime. I don't like it better than the manga, but I like it by itself, as its own thing.

Plus, Kururuko (http://i28.tinypic.com/2wg8aiu.jpg) (yes, that's... Kururu's magical girl robot suit thing) is, I maintain, one of the best things ever, so I can't hate the anime canon. XD

I've never understood how fanservice is inherently unempowering to women, nor why the idea of girls falling in love with someone makes them less badass. :/ That said, I love some harem series BECAUSE they have such a big cast of female characters, and often, those characters are some level of awesome. Negima! looks badass, but I liked Love Hina, too, though a lot of people probably hate it just because it's a harem series.

TooBig!Secret #2: Hmm, no, maybe people would "lynch" you because instead of having a differing opinion from people and being mature about it, you're being a dick instead? I'm not interested in some series, and I personally find Dragon Ball/DBZ a cliche series- and I could get over that if not for the fact that I think the art is horribly unrealistic (lol, "actually looks like a man"? I've known some boys that look like "bishounen" or just regular anime-guys, and no one who's not a weight trainer who's that overmuscled- and I'm talking before the hideous powerups) and, on top of that, most of the characters look way, way, way too much alike, especially when they go Super Saiyan and ultra-muscle out with their blonde hair.

I've seen a few episodes, and the plot/characters in personality seem cute enough. But sorry, no, nothing special. Not to me. If you like it, awesome for you, but if you don't, try not to sound like a holier-than-thou asshole about cartoons, for godssake.

I feel you, #166. Snape was by far the most interesting, complex character in the series, and the only reason I got into HP fandom was to ship him and Harry. I think that I am like Snape in so many ways. I understand his character and what's going on beneath the surface that we don't ever get to appreciate in the books. I don't know if I can make anyone understand that, and I bet a lot of people would call me a freak for even saying that, no matter how true it is. Pokopen was used by the Japanese as an insult towards Chinese people way back in the day and has since been banned from TV by authorities. So, that wasn't really ever going to be allowed.
