Bacon, yes. But also pasta. I really don't like pasta. It is slimy and tasteless. I guess it can be forgettable enough in a dish with lots of other ingredients, but pasta on its own is just so blegh. Also, alfredo sauce is fucking vile.

Additionally, pickles. Anything pickled. Disgusting.

All of these may not be popular in other regions.

Avocado
Green chili/any kind of chili, really
Sausage
Kale/broccoli
Tomato (only really like sauces from tomatoes, and even then I'd pick Alfredo over it if given the option)
Peas (raw snap peas might be ok)
Meat that isn't cooked "well-done"
Nuts/seeds
Jerky/dried meats
Strawberries (I have had enough unripe ones that I'm not a fan anymore)

I love bacon, but I'm picky with it. The fattier the better; crunchy bacon reminds me of jerky.

I don't exactly HATE it, but I don't really like wine.

I'm female, and apparently women are OBSESSED with wine. I don't get it. Why wine specifically (as opposed to other kinds of alcohol)?

I love chocolate but NOT with mint. Chocolate and mint together is like eating dessert and brushing your teeth at the same time. (I don't mind mint on its own.)

My dad keeps arguing with my mom about pumpkins.

She got some small pumpkins, which are apparently supposed to be small. My dad keeps claiming they're immature or something. She keeps saying they're a different kind from the big pumpkins.

He just won't stop.

He is always arguing about something, and no matter how tired you get of it, he WILL. NOT. STOP.

And ignoring him doesn't work. He will just keep going. He will start making assumptions about what you're thinking, so by not speaking, you'll get stuck with some stupid opinion attached to you. And he'll follow you around the house if you leave the room.

What "era" of fandom do you miss most?

For me, it's fandom c. 2010 or so. Back when kinkmemes were still at all active, landcomms were a thing, and watch-alongs sometimes happened. It seemed like people did fandom "for fun" a lot more, back then. People just seemed... happier, or at least not as difficult to please.

Weird fic inspiration

A few minutes ago, sitting at a restaurant in the middle of nowhere on a road trip, a little kid is running around being obnoxious and my first thought was to say something sarcastic (which I'd never actually do), immediately followed by thinking "That's totally something Character A from [newest show I'm obsessed with] would do." Then, "hmm, I should write a fic about that, Character B would totally want to eat here" then thinking about all the characters going on a road trip and driving through this town for some reason, and then of course how B/C (my newest OTP) would be struggling with their feelings for each other and it would cause drama on the trip.

And now I'm actually seriously contemplating writing this fic, even though I haven't written anything in forever, because it's a super tiny fandom and there's barely any fic and why not?

Has anyone else gotten inspiration from weird places like this?

Do you hide some fandom secret that you don't want to share, fs?
