OMG! I love YOU for posting this secret! This is my absolute most favorite show, ever. It's actually so helpful, more than just about the clothes. They're the only show that actually teaches you to accept the way you are at the moment, to be happy with what you have. I hate all the other "transformation" shows that make the people go under the knife and do all this cosmetic stuff. Not good for your self-esteem. I'm glad it helped your mom!

101. Sadly, that's how it is. Normally artists who are starting out won't get noticed unless they appeal to a fanbase who are already searching for a topic/subject of interest. Otherwise you have to be very established in technique (aka absurdly amazing).

So you can either make drawings of anime characters and work in your own style and practice, or get sucked into the need for comments and views by making trace-overs or the like. Up to you. Not implying you do trace-overs, but that's the route some people take, it seems.

You are not your pageviews, your comment count, your fav count, etc. Try not to let it get to you.

I've gone so far as forgetting that Terrifying!Pertwee isn't real Doctor Who canon, and that different incarnations of the Doctor/Master are the same person, and that Nine isn't actually a whiny bitch with a less-than-perfect grasp on Spanish who's desperate attempts to woo women are doomed to failure, and that the characters don't actually refer to different incarnations as Nine, Ten, etc.

133. Awesome stuff. Sometimes it intimidates me too. But, practice makes perfect, y’know. (Keep in mind that the creators of those things had a lot of practice. I guess RuroKen was what made Watsuki famous but even so, it took him a few tries to get it polished.)

141. Why? I hardly ever care about the actors. It’s the characters that make the story move. What do you ever learn from interviews anyway? So-and-so really really likes Nutella? It’s not relevant to the show, is it? I’ve never really understood actor-fanworship. I mean, playing out their characters to best fit the story is what they’re paid for.

I think following actors who you think are great is a fun thing to do, but I don’t see why you would feel guilty for not wanting to do it in this case.

149. Though I hugely adore Jeremy Brett’s portrayal of Holmes (particularly the earlier years, despite my preferred Watson being Hardwicke, not Burke), I agree with you. Holmes is an extremely difficult character to pin down. Even when I read really great fanfiction, there’s always something I find to quibble about when it comes to Holmes’s character. I guess that’s true of most Sherlockians. (I still read the fanfiction. It’s an addiction… and some of is pretty great, IMO.)

… also, yay!! Holmes-secret!
