160. My gripe? Megatron used to be hawt. As in, "hit that with all the fury of a cab-over semi" hawt. (Yes, that was a slash reference, for those who got it. I'm not that big into that pairing, but it does have its moments. XD) (Second aside - I like Optimus's new look - he's much sexier in truck form now, even if I haven't completely reconciled with the flame paint job yet.)

Ya see, the thing about that particular fandom is that everyone there is friends with each other, or at least on personable terms, and everyone is always so polite in the communities. I mean, we have this one batshit person, and we don't even publicly mock her like other fandoms would! We don't have the wank that other fandoms take for granted. Our shipwars are basically, "Well, I see and respect your opinion, but I disagree with it and here is my own," followed by, "Though I am saddened that you do not agree with my theory, I also respect your opinion," which is then followed, usually, by hugs and tea.

Which is all well and good, but sometimes it's funny to see shippers go at it.

133. Aha, yeah, I can totally kind of relate. The fact is, no one is ever going to be completely satisfied with your portrayal. If you right people as reasonably flawed, you're going to get bitched out. But if you make them peerless paragons of strength and integrity, then they...either become Sues, or just not characters at all.

Basically, you've just gotta bite the bullet, and go where your writing takes you. People are going to insinuate that you're a misogynist, yeah, or just that the character is a total BITCHFACE OMG HOW COULD SHE!?!?!?!?! But you know the truth. At least some of your readers will get it. And that's enough.
