142- Woah, what?

I loved the characters in Gurren Lagann, don't get me wrong, but the plot WAS fucking awesome and so were the mecha fights (not even into mecha anime!).

I also loved the biology theme (like Lord Genome and the names of the Big Four after the four bases in DNA) and the use of the spiral motif. I thought those were used excellently.

I think it's sad that people can't speak out for what they actually liked about a fandom without being lynched :(

111: Yeah I found out while I was at a convention. Sadly there will always be good actors kicking the bucket... such is life. His arguments with O'Niell were the best part of the early seasons.

140. Word! I will always prefer the DCAU, Mark Hamill Joker over Heath Ledgers, but I do think that Jack Nicholson's joker was another perfect casting decision. I still feel like Heath Ledger was a very peculiar decision for the joker, I really do. As much as I love him as an Actor, I felt it was an awkward casting.

115. I like to think of myself as not vapid, but I couldn't say that for myself! I admit Star Wars isn't my fandom for deep thinking, but more of my fandom of nostalgia. I found it when I was in the 1st grade, and loved it since, therefore, its an almost childish first-love!

yes, but you understand the difference. i think it's fine to like star wars and not have the same connection with it that i feel, especially if you have a childhood nostalgia for it, but so many people in the star wars community dedicate a gigantic chunk of their time to the star wars universe and yet find no meaning in it. if you're doing all your thinking elsewhere, that's fine and dandy, but if star wars takes up eighty-percent of your free time, i feel like you should be getting a little more out of it.

166. I think Davies just likes to concoct awful sendoffs for female characters. If the man is so terrified of everything with a double-x chromosome (which he definitely is), then why did we never get a long-serving male companion during his tenure? Whatever, Moffatt is on his way and will hopefully be writing up to the level of "Blink."

Well, we do have one, but apparently we can't have him for more than two or three shows at a time. :-/

And (not unrelated), as for the Grand Moff, while "Blink"-level writing would be great, I'll gladly settle for "Empty Child/Doctor Dances"-level writing. At least the dialogue might improve, and the Doctor would be allowed to sound older than everyone else in the room. (I'm not an RTD-hater, but can has better dialog tiem nao pls?)
