Are you me?

I have to make sure someones in the same bed as me if I'm watching X files, lamest thing ever but otherwise I have dreams about stalkers, aliens and being hunted down by the government!

xD embarrassing secret is not really so secret!

[identity profile] looking-spiffy.livejournal.com 2008-07-17 10:24 pm (UTC)(link)
129: I genuinely don't see how anyone could see otherwise. I felt far more for Donna than I did for Rose at the end of S2. At least Rose gets to remember The Doctor and everything they did.

n!s2: ASDFJKLDF FUCK YES. WINRAR, FUKKEN SAVED, ETC. :DDDD

173. I have to admit, his character fascinated me a lot, too. But I always fall for the dark, disturbing stuff. x__x I, too, read that novel in my high school English class. And adored it. :D You're not from my English class, too, are you?

173 OP

(Anonymous) 2008-07-18 05:55 am (UTC)(link)
Hm, were you in that class where the teacher went to great pains so that we wouldn't run smack into the rape scene on our lonesome and then a sub came in on the Big Day and was all "Aw, just read it"? If so, that might be the case...

[identity profile] saave.livejournal.com 2008-07-17 10:29 pm (UTC)(link)
110. So you ship them for nothing but their looks? .o.
174. Ah, old rp_secrets. Gone forever.

Their personalities as well

Only three? Meh... there's always tomorrow.

104. <333

106. I wrote a term paper on h/c. It's just such a great dynamic, especially because it occurs in real life. :-)

150. You love Bruce Dickinson, yes, THE Bruce Dickinson?

Well, he does have a fever... maybe you can be his prescription.

[identity profile] fishlove.livejournal.com 2008-07-17 10:30 pm (UTC)(link)
144. Yeah, I like the author and all, but one of the things that weirded me out about that series was the ONLY GIRLS EVER AS RULERS* thing. (I don't think matriarchy or patriarchy is good. In either one someone's getting put down due to gender.)
151. Wow, other people have seen that show o_O
166. Me too.

*Even if they're batshit crazy.

[identity profile] skello.livejournal.com 2008-07-17 10:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Boring secrets today. :/

161. Hello, are you me?

134. I have to agree with you, and "grrl gamers" in general are the exact reason why girls who play video games aren't taken seriously. Gender shouldn't matter that much, so there's no point in making it known. Especially since some of these people think they're somehow special because they own a playstation and happen to be female. Admittedly, I used to have that mindset, but I've since gotten over it.

ext_27817: (nnoitra so srs)

[identity profile] flowerofsin.livejournal.com 2008-07-17 10:33 pm (UTC)(link)
175. I'm still trying to figure out how shipping two characters is disrespectful to a third, especially when Nnoitra/Neliel isn't a canon pairing. Bleach pairing wars/wank are srs biz as always.

[identity profile] kuromitsu.livejournal.com 2008-07-17 10:38 pm (UTC)(link)
They're not a canon pairing and they don't even like each other in canon. So I don't really see how it's disrespectful toward Spoon Head to ship Nell with anyone else... (He'd probably wouldn't give a damn.)

Reposted for shitty grammar.

I have no idea what 160 is, but it looks like the love child of Shuichii from Gravitation and the girl from Mezzo Forte.

It´s from the videogame Persona 4.

101: Heh, over here people think that you're a bit strange if you do. XD

123: Wow, I hardly know what to say. The two basic things you have to understand first in any case are that firstly, a published work does not belong to you; the less people who know about it, the worse it will do. Secondly, just because you don't agree with how many other fans interpret canon/express fannish love it doesn't mean that you're right and they're wrong.

But I feel like I'm probably wasting my time.

138: You ignore what other fans are actually saying, and replace their words with what you imagine they think? And you feel superior about it? Very... interesting.

146: I miss nine SO MUCH.

161: Yes, me and a friend watch it every Friday, devouring the screen with our eyes, and eagerly anticipate Xelloss! I could hardly believe that they finally made a new season. ♥

[identity profile] dagas-isa.livejournal.com 2008-07-17 10:39 pm (UTC)(link)
142. PGSM was made of complete win, cheesy as heck, but by the end of it, I'm not going to let anyone tell me that it's not the equal of either the anime or manga versions.

170. I find something ironic about that. Funny, agreeable, but ironic. =D

103 and 174

[identity profile] dreadnot.livejournal.com 2008-07-17 10:40 pm (UTC)(link)
103. Get in line for Spider! Scary Spider-faced semen and all.

174. It was like nostalgia for a time when flaming was a hobby for me, and even so I stayed very tame.

146, 156

[identity profile] omorka.livejournal.com 2008-07-17 10:40 pm (UTC)(link)
146: IAWTS. Eccleston's acting got me past a lot of bad writing to fall in love with the show all over again. Much as I like Tennant, I don't think he could have done that.

156: Back when it was called "hall costuming," no one cared what the ethnicity of the person doing it was. This is one of the cases where I really wish anime fandom hadn't completely overswept the SF/Fantasy/Horror fandom that already existed - now no one remembers that there's a long fannish costuming history on this side of the pond, and not just in the SCA, either.

Absolutely. "Dalek" sure as hell wouldn't have worked with Tennant - Eccleston's total and complete turn from fun-loving-Doctor into losing-his-shit-rapidly-Doctor was essential for the episode. And as my friend pointed out on a recent S1 rewatch, Eccleston put some love into the technobabble. Tennant kind of handwaves it. And the one thing I heart about Who is the technobabble.

[identity profile] blackjedii.livejournal.com 2008-07-17 10:41 pm (UTC)(link)
137) I watch it for the violence. Slamming monster's heads into sharp pointy nails FTW!! (also yes, lead is hot)

142) I... kind of want to see it. Like a lot.

169) I think it's the flames in the background? That's what made it great and uber-tasty.

142

(Anonymous) 2008-07-18 03:35 am (UTC)(link)
I recommend it. A lot. It's a bit cheesy, but that's why it's fun!

119

(Anonymous) 2008-07-17 10:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Sometimes reading f!s bums me out when I realize that nerds/dorks/geeks only feel redeemable if they are considered sexy or thin. It's very WTF. My offline fandom buddies do not seem as occupied with this as my online ones do. What gives?

Re: 119

(Anonymous) 2008-07-17 11:44 pm (UTC)(link)
It bums me out too. Especially when the people in question who are so miserable are usually way, way, way thinner than I am (and I'm by no means morbidly obese), and I keep running into people whose idea of a good time is to go through cosplay galleries and laugh at everyone with touching thighs. It makes me worry.

Good on the OP for getting the body she wants, though.
