149. Everyone has different kinks. I ship any and all things canon, which in my fandoms means any and all things het. Don't worry about it. I'm not a yaoi/slash fan either.

G-d, I hate Bobbi and want her to DIAF, but you're right, it was his BEST. WORK. EVAR. mmmm and he's so beautiful naked.

She was actually supposed to be his actual mother but the network made them change it. (I was a fan when it aired.)

I loved Bobbi. She was ridiculously awesome, and a little like a car wreck - you always wanted to see how far she'd go next.

Guh, Pasdar's gorgeous. I actually think he's a little on the skinny side on Heroes.

Yeah, I've watched the DVD commentaries - Pasdar, McNamara, and Greenwalt are hysterical - and noticed that. I wish they hadn't wimped out. It makes it even more deliciously twisted.

Just watched the first episode of the cartoon series - I watched it lots as a kid, but had forgotten so much. Turns out the movie is an excellent pastiche of the show's style. :)

TB!2: No... I don't think you're heartless. I feel pretty much the same way, though I wasn't actually much of a Ledger fan before TDK (I'd seen a few of his movies before and enjoyed them, and I knew he was good, but I never really... paid attention). And it's natural, isn't it? I didn't have an emotional connection to the man himself. What I connected to was the Joker - what I got invested in was the character he played, and that happened because of how fucking perfectly he did it. So his death grieves me on two levels; the first being that a young guy with a kid is dead, and how tragic is that, and the second is that this character that entranced me is gone, and even if they recast the Joker for the next movie, we're never gonna get that again. The first level is basic humanity, and the second is more personal to me. That's where it feels like this has "ripped a hole in me", because that's exactly how I feel, too.

As someone who reads, betas, but doesn't write fanfic, I'm totally torn on this issue. One of my favorite authors does this repeatedly -- starts a story that promiseS to be amazing, gets me hooked, and then never finishes, and I'm left without any closure. Then she starts another story ... and the process continues. On the one hand, hey, she's not getting paid, and it's her sandbox, so she can do as she likes. On the other hand, I just want her to FINISH A FUCKING STORY.

121 - Psh. Mulan made me feel better for knowing martial arts and how to apply it effectively because my family (being old school traditional Asian, lol) kept making fun of me for being 'too much of a boy'. =p Thank you, Mulan!

BROOKLYN!!!!! Never in my life would I dream of seeing Brooklyn on F!S!!!! TonyAwardsDorkMe found an old VHS of the awards show formerly known as "The Year AFTER Wicked." Watched, caught that ONE TEENSY BIT in the opening montage, ran straight from the VHS to YouTube to iTunes and was hooked forever.

So good. Now there's two of us. :)

Whether you like or dislike yaoi or slash really has nothing to do with your opinion of RL homosexuality, though your opinion of RL homosexuality can influence your approach to it in fiction. For that matter, I don't think canon and fanon slash even have anything to do with each other. One is responding to an actual relationship, the other is choosing to focus on two males at the expense of a female, more often than not.

I spent years under the impression that I was essentially a weirdo in terms of being an anime and manga fan because I was the only female I knew who didn't slash, and actually even liked most of the female characters. In truth, I can read something if I don't like the guys, but not if I don't like the girls.

What I've found for me, though, is that even if I'm fascinated by a dynamic between two male characters, whether they're a canon or fanon pairing, I can't really do any shipping unless there's a female involved (for example, I can get behind Doumeki/Watanuki/Himawari in xxxHolic but if Himawari isn't there shipping them while Watanuki showers her with adoration, they don't hold me beyond "nice boys," no matter how fond of them I am.) I seem to need an equal or near equal number of female characters involved to care about fictional males in terms of sex and romance.

Your role model is someone who's done so much drugs that they're in danger of dying from it?

And I could not help thinking that Fakir looked really good in that uniform. ~~PT takes place in Germany, so I guess it could fit in some wild way. lol~~
