107. You can BS your way through conversations because everyone's making such a big deal of it that everything worth talking about is written up on the internet somewhere. I was able to have debates about Breaking Dawn long before I read it. Reading just made it harder to talk about it becase... I just didn't want to even think about it. :(

165. I agree. I read some of it because I was seeing it everywhere, but... when I read, there weren't any female characters. At all! They just had guys who looked and acted like girls. I refuse to read it until there's a female MC... maybe there is now; I guess I should check. Also the protagonist is a dick, but I could look past that since I liked the other guy.

115 I have to say, given that the fandom exploded in anticipation of the movie rather than in reaction to it, and that so many people have seen that show, I was always surprised there wasn't more movie vs show wank. And I totally agree about movie!Joanne.

123 I love them so much. They not only make me feel like we can turn this ship around, but they make me want to do it. 134 Funnily enough, when I came into my first fandom, HP, there were a LOT of active, popular, guys writing a lot of slash. So I've never thought of slash as being particularly female. Yaoi, though, I can see as being more of a female space. Just don't let them be snotty, and you should get along, but I see your point.

139 Yeah, you know, I think that she did so many things to those characters in books 6 and 7 that by the time they died I didn't care as much. Also many of them got lameass shit deaths that were not mourned within the text—Sirius, Remus, Tonks. More was made about Cedric's death, and he was much more of a character in the movie than he ever was in the book, never mind that he didn't mean as much to Harry. Lame!

114. "At least I support my home country"...Um, what does that have to do with anything? Like people who like animation from another country are suddenly wrong for doing so? I think I have feeling this directed at people who support anime, and the reason I do is because instead of animation being treated as something just for kids, Japan has this unique perspective of using animation as another form of story telling. Yes, they have their pokemans much like NA has Looney Toons or Micky Mouse, but it's really a shame that's really all we got. Pixar is NA's only saving grace, IMO.

Not to bash your fandoms or you, of course. Just don't try to make it a bad thing for people to like things outside their country next time. I find that to be a little immature.
