I'm glad you said that, as I was thinking "what? That's George Hearn!", and then started to worry that pictures I thought were George Hearn were Len Cariou.

That's kind of a douche-y thing to do. My fics may not be perfect, hell I could probably go through my older ones and tweak them a bit, but they're still mine. I really don't see how what you're doing is any different from all the stupid bratty 14-year-olds who steal and plagarise other people's work.

I get the frustration of badfic, truly I do, but those are real people you're sneering at, and most of them probably young and learning. Why not offer to beta or mentor, and if people say no, back the hell off and snark at it in your own LJ-space or something.

Fuck you. The movie wasn't exactly great art, but loads of the series sucked balls as well. Personally I enjoyed the revisit to the rubbishy aspects that I loved - it was a nostalgia tour of the good and bad. Get over your srs business; there was a two-headed dog and Billy Connelly was a paedophile preist: that is classic X-Files.

Well, there was never much of one, TBQH. It was pre-LJ so there was never any comms. There were a few Yahoo groups, but those are all dead now and filled with spam. The fansites were all pretty much HTML 101 Geocities/Angelfire sites. But dammit, it was my first serious fandom :(

112. Actually, I think that people are less likely to cry at movies when they're younger. I never did, but I tear up these days. I think it's because when you're older, you have more experience to draw from that helps you really understand the sad bits.


115. I'm so glad I never got into the fandom, because just knowing about it is one of the things that made me hate yaoi and never take it seriously. Relena was written to be Hiro's love interest of a sort. She was a strong young woman who is reviled by fandom because of the previously-mentioned fact. If she were a guy, they'd be all over it. Disgusting. (The fandom, not the yaoi.)

130. I...I kind of want to do this now. Because honestly, I see fic that I want to edit all the time. And the truth is, if I were doing it, it wouldn't be because the fic was horrible, but because it didn't completely suck and just needed the polishing.
Granted, being able to see the difference is not a human strong point, as sitting through any entry-level critique will show (Oh, I miss those things).

177. HA! You could be me. I never really identify as asexual because I'm very boy-crazy, but I'm not really a sexual person in the sense that, in real life, I'm not particularly interested in it. But many of those things are definitely "kinks" of mine, if you can even call it that. Not all of 'em by a long shot, but a lot of those.


180. As I recall, our little corner of fandom (less internet, more huge clique at school) kind of hated Miaka as well. Not obsessively, but moments where we wanted to smack her (hated Nakago more). I miss that show, and we watched a bit awhile ago when my friend showed her little sister...it's soooo cheesy, but man, I still love it.
Tasuki, you were my first anime-love. Or Chichiri...it's hard to tell...
