Ron is my favorite character but IA that he was never quite fit to marry anyone. The last-minute attempt to force some real love between him and Hermione in Book 7 with the "She's being tortured and I realize I love her" . No, but I guess since Hermione is JKR's self-insert, that's who she wanted to marry.

TBH, I can see this happening as a general trend. There's a limit to how many streaming services people are willing to pay for and I read an article that suggesting torrenting is back on the rise simply because there were already too many. Disney's got some major clout and back catalog material, though... I guess it depends on how many people love their stuff enough to subscribe on top of whatever else they're already subscribed to.

To be fair, with any vampire/mortal pairing you're going to get massive age gaps and massive differences in experience. I mostly found Angel/Buffy creepy for the same reason I found Angel/Wesley or Angel/anyone creepy. Angel is just creepy, and relationships with him never bring out the best in anyone.

Granted any relationship with the caveat 'never know true happiness together or he'll turn into a sadistic demon and murder you' is never getting off on the best of feet anyway. Hence 'curse'. But still. His personality really doesn't make up for any of it either.

Being a woman doesn't make a person a great feminist or a great writer of female characters, though. A lot of women have internalized toxic messages about women, how they should act, what role they ought to take in platonic and romantic relationships, etc. Look at Stephenie Meyer.

I also don't think it's particularly OOC for Rowling. She likes to Tweet a good game when it comes to being woke but remember, she's 100% okay with Johnny Depp's track record of domestic violence.

We don't know if the FO is xenophobic or not, though. Except for Snoke (who is more or less ambiguously humanoid alien), there hasn't been any non-human character in the First Order's ranks.

I usually love all things based on all mythology so can't relate but I do also understand why you'd feel that way. Greek is probably my favourite (as my first brush with mythology was a Ladybird book about Medusa) so I don't mind if it's overdone.

There are a handful of funny/light hearted stories in Norse mythology though!

Even if it is available in the UK (I'm guessing it will be, Disney gotta get more of that money) I'm not sure I'd want it for the sake of a couple of shows I'm wary at best over. I guess I'll wait to see reactions from others first.

... Is it without the xenophobia? I thought the First Order had the same basic view of nonhumans as the Empire had. I don't remember seeing any nonhumans among them.

Also, I think the Empire just felt like more of an implacable threat than the Order does. The Order is shouty and angry and rolling outwards, but the Empire was vast and monolithic and grey and already there. Death felt like a conveyor belt certainty with the Empire. It's still just a strong possibility with the Order.

I enjoy most mythology inspired works, but I'd like to see more media that explores the mythology of other cultures besides western ones.

IA, if they have him grow out his own hair or give him (and everyone else) better quality wigs. The wig game in MCU is just disgraceful at times.

One of the biggest Twelve fans I know loves Jodie. There are people out there who were heartbroken losing their fave but still want to watch the show. Maybe they're drowned out by the vocal minority but I find a lot of Doctor Who spaces have regularly descended into shouting matches (and not just recently) so perhaps there are fans like me who just don't really comment on anything anymore.
