Babylon 5 is probably my favorite tv show ever. Doctor Who is second.

Person of Interest. Great, clever show with thoughtful cyberpunk themes and ideas about digital surveillance and artifical intelligence, wedded to a well-done action procedural thriller. Great characters. Does fall off in the last 2 seasons.

Two I haven't watched but want to recommend anyway are Legends of Tomorrow and The Expanse

Fringe. It starts out as kind of X-Files, Monster Of the Week, but from the second season on, it focuses on parallel universes and alternate timelines. The third season - which switches between two universes from episode-to-episode - is some of the best TV I've ever watched.

(Also, it's a crime John Noble and Anna Torv never got nominated for awards. All the actors brought their A-Games, but those two especially did great work with their doppelgangers.)

Travelers. It's about time travelers from a terrible dystopian future who've traveled back in time to try and change it, but they can only do so by "re-writing" themselves over the bodies of people who are just about to die. Good acting, lots of shipping possibilities, and the show works very well with its low budget without looking cheap.

SG-1 -- for wonderful characters and teamwork.
Farscape -- for cool aliens.
Lexx -- for sheer ribald OTT WTF-ery (though there's a drizzle of angst to Zev and Kai's story)

Dark Matter - Canadian, good characters, lead female is bi, mix of more serious and lighter moments, produced by SG1's Mallozzi, kickass females
SG1 and SGA
Killjoys - strong nonsexual male female pairing later joined by male's brother, lead female is strongly hinted to be bi (her kind of clone is bi or gay), kickass female
The Orville - a loving parody-cum-inspired by Star Trek/Next Gen, more relatable than Trek (intentionally, 20th people in the future is part of the show's reasoning), passes Bechdel test frequently with 3 major female characters, good male friendships, mix of humour and more serious issues
Bablylon 5 - Ivanova alone is reason to watch this one. More serious than my other recs, closer to BSG than anything else.
Future Man - insane scifi-comedy
Legends of Tomorrow - sci-fi/time travel with fantasy/superhero elements; bisexual female who becomes captain, strong female presence, does not take itself seriously

Secret Santa gift help?

I'm participating in a workplace Secret Santa this year, for the first time ever (I've never worked at a place where we did stuff like that before), and I could use a few suggestions as to what to buy as a gift. The gift has to be:
1. Under $20.00 US
2. Gender neutral
3. Non alcoholic
I'd really rather not do gift cards, because we all got a gift card for our Christmas bonus, but any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Fancy chocolate is a fairly non-offensive one! Or a cute mug with a pack of nice tea or hot cocoa or something.

The one year I participated I gave someone a container of fancy hot chocolate mix and a couple of mugs. I guess mugs are kind of overdone as a gift, but they did really like it.

Should I see a doctor?

So, at some point at work, I did something. No idea what. But now I can't turn my head or tilt it to the right without pain shooting down my neck/upper back/right shoulder.

I've put ice on it now that I'm home and taken some ibuprofen.

My question is, should I see a doctor. Google seems conflicted. One site said no unless it keeps hurting for 6 weeks. But another said yes. So I'm not really sure. As we're low on fund right now on account of many, many medical issues, I'd rather not see a doc if I don't have to. But being unable to move my head is a bit concerning.
