Anyone who is able to get a flu shot and doesn't is partially responsible the pre-mature deaths of thousands and in my eyes, worse than someone who commits manslaughter as they do so knowing the consequence. It's especially rich if they make fun of the anti-vax movement.

Depending on your course of study, university is a scam, and at least a third of the students in higher education would be better served by a trades school education. They would end up making more and owing less.

It's not hypocritical to read slash and be against gay relationships in real life for the same reason it's not hypocritical to be a fan of evil characters, play violent video games, or watch shows about serial killers and be against those things in real life.

god i've been sitting on this for years and i just gotta let it out even if it's petty.
so my mum's an alcoholic. she's quit a gazillion times by now but always starts again.

one time she tripped in the bath and fell, hitting her chin, we had to go to the hospital and she got stitches. i remember her telling me how this was the first time she had actually gotten herself injured by being drunk and how it was quite shocking.

only to other people she claimed she had tripped over our cat. i don't even know how it started, but she began telling it as like this funny anecdote of Adventures With Our Cat. i get it, she was embarrassed and didn't want to tell the truth, but i don't understand why that meant she had to tell the story everywhere in the changed version.

but then after a while she also started joking to me about it, as if it really happened. either she's told the fake version so much that she forgot the truth, or she somehow believes that i don't remember what really happened.

and it's not even a big deal. like in the grand scale of things, who cares, right? but for some reason she keeps making jokes about it. not constantly, but over the years it always pops up from time to time and every time it annoys me so much, but calling her out would be way more of a hassle than it's worth.
today my grandma fell and injured herself and when my mum sent me a message about it it was like "seems grandma doesn't need a black cat to get stitches :P"

so i just wanted to rant on the internet about it, because it makes me really mad for some reason.

Minor triumphs

Yesterday, I said I needed to replace a headlight bulb in my car and how stupidly difficult a process that could be:

Well, turns out it is not actually possible to replace the driver's side bulb without dismantling everything, but I DID IT! I managed to avoid completely removing the headlight, but still loosened the front end, unscrewed the bolts holding the light in place, and pulled it out far enough to get at the bulb. So, after trudging to Autozone for a new bulb (and replacement push-pins because four of the seven were missing and two of the remaining three fell apart coming out) now everything is back in place and it works! And I think the air temperature never got into the double digits (Fahrenheit)!

Sometimes I like to daydream about having the ability to completely suck all the dust/dirt/detrius/grime out of a room or off/out of an item into a sphere I could then control and manipulate as I pleased. 1) because I want to see that, it would be so gross 2) it would be such a thorough, quick way to clean 3) it would be nice to anonymously make random people’s lives easier or healthier 4) I want to know what unfarhomable side effects it could have 5) it would be nice to make anonymously make certain people’s lives dirty and miserable 6) I could punish people who litter and disrespect shared spaces.
