Do you dread them?

The texture of my hair is just fucking impossible, and I can't find any stylist on earth who can give me a decent haircut. But I've let it go to the point where my hair looks like utter shit right now, so I'm going tomorrow evening, and I'm honestly in tears with anxiety over it. (Although I think I'm getting sick, too, so maybe that's just making me over-emotional.)

Also, my hair is white-gray around the hairline ONLY in a very unfortunate and un-embraceable way, and I'm so fucking tired of dyeing it or covering it with eye shadow.

I guess this all bothers me because my hair is really the only thing I've ever liked about my appearance, and it's just making me feel gross all over right now.

I don't dread them but I hate them because of the time/cost. I don't ever do anything fancy so I am pretty easy to please.

It took me for-fucking-ever to find a stylist that a) didn't argue when I said I like it short (as in mostly buzzed with some fringe-ishness), and b) didn't make it look like SHIT. I honestly wish I could afford to go to him more than once a year because right now I am at that overgrown 'not a style' stage that makes me feel super unkempt. :/

I hate getting haircuts. I don’t like people touching me or having to make small talk and getting a haircut involves both. Plus, my hair’s thin and wavy and nobody seems to know what to do with it except suggest layers that’ll give my hair more volume (it doesn’t).

I actually like haircuts, the only problem is that the barbershop I like is far enough away that I basically have to plan a whole afternoon around it and it's just a pain.

Not really. The one part I hate is how long it takes to get my hair done at the salon. It used to take a really long time when I had it long. The blow-drying part even took longer than everything else.

But I enjoy the experience because of the washing part. Because I love a head massage. The rest I don't care about, other than liking my hair to look nice. But the head massage, no matter how short, is nice and makes it all worth it.

I trim my own hair every few months, and pin it up if I want to look formal, so either Yes, in that I avoid hair salons, or No in that I am unbothered.

I'm sorry your hair is giving you trouble, OP. It can be really distressing I know.

I haven't been to a hairdressers in years tbh, I learned how to cut my hair myself and since I don't have my hair styled a certain way, it's just long, it suits me just fine. It's a time and money-saver for me since I never did anything more than get my hair trimmed anyway.

If I wanted to get bangs put in again I'd go and get that done as I wouldn't be able to do that myself, but otherwise I'm good not having gone for a while.

I loved getting my hair cut when I had long hair because I like to have my hair played with. At the salon they pamper the customers with coffee/tea and cookies. Also, the chairs in the rinse had massage function.

Nowadays I buzz my hair every 4-5 weeks and agonize over what colour I should dye it next. Feels amazing, though.

I have discovered that if I keep my hair really short I don't have to do anything with it except maybe put some gel in it. So even though I associate it more with guys and I'm not a guy, I just have them use clippers on the back and sides and leave it a little longer on the top. I'm happy with it and I get compliments on it (occasionally from people I don't even know.)

But I'm really sorry you're having a hard time with hair. It can be a pain in the ass. I hope you're able to get through the appointment and have a decent cut.

I don't really mind them. 90% of the time my hair looks like shit whether or not it's cut nicely, that's sort of the nature of doing manual labor outside. So I don't sweat it when they fuck up the cut.

I had a long undercut for a few years (man bun, haha) but I chopped it all off not too long ago and now i'm back to my old standby french crop.

I've had barbers and stylists insult my hair.

I hate the style that I pick every time just because it allows me to pass. But changing it opens up a whole mess of anxieties, and it's been over a decade since I've had a good relationship with a hairdresser.

I didn't hate getting my hair cut, but it seemed like it was hard to line up having the time, the money, and the energy to go and get it done all at the same time.

Is this dumb? Asexual characters

Recently I decided I wanted to write a story about asexual characters, mainly because there aren't very many out there. The basic idea is an asexual person starts a new job and meets another asexual person. Both are in unhappy relationships at the start but they eventually end up with each other. Asexual people aren't exactly common so I kind of feel like it's unlikely for them to just happen to end up working together, but they work at a large company in a large city, so I don't think it's completely impossible or anything.

But I don't know. Is this totally stupid? What do you all think?

I'm going through Dark Souls 3, and Pontiff Sulyvahn put a massive full stop in my run today. I love these games but I've never felt so intimidated and panicked by a boss to the point where I feel "I'm not sure I can do this." I'm a dual-wielder and Bloodborne trained me to dodge but he's so goddamn fast and I just fumble.

Gamers, what boss became a brick wall in your playthrough? Did you get by it, or did they end your run? Please make me feel less alone in my struggle.
