104. Obviously, the idea that other people who HAVE been sexually assaulted could have a different reaction to non-con hasn't occurred to you. I don't want to be nasty here, but your response isn't the only possible one.

And personally, I think of "non-con" and "rape" as separate things in fiction. Rape is precisely that. Non-con, however, bears more resemblance to rape fantasy, in that the most important aspect of it is an eroticised exchange of control/power, not violence and violation.

Unfortunately, I can't impose this personal standard on the rest of fandom. But it always makes me blink when people say, "non-con," and it turns out to simply be rape.

I can see not having a pairing in DGM...it's a really platonic series for the most part. I've just seen so many intelligent, cool-seeming fans expressing preferences for Lavi/Lenalee. And others disparaging Allen/Lenalee as sibling-like, too obvious, or not well-developed enough...I started to get twitchy.

I know it's pretty silly though, which is why it's a secret.

You might be surprised. The fandom is actually fairly chillaxed and is one of the only ones I've seen without huge shipping wars. We don't have people going "MAYA AND PHOENIX OTPPPPPPP" "NO EDGEOWRTH AND PHOENIX YOU ROTTEN SLAG", more like "alright, that's cool."

Then again, I'm coming from the BJD fandom here, too, and comparing it to that one. Phoenix Wright? So laid back, comparatively.
