175. you know, i wish my parents had had the balls to give me an outlandish name. mine sucks. it's been in the top five most popular girls' names since before i was born and doesn't show any signs of going anywhere any time soon. i swear, everywhere i go i meet someone with my name.

that being said i'd rage like the motherfucking fist of the north star if my parents named me something like christopher or james, just because.. it's a guy's name. seriously, don't do it. having a cool, uncommon name is one thing. having a name from the opposite gender is another.

Don't feel guilty. If you really want to volunteer, find a cause or an issue that means something to you personally, then find groups in your area where you can get involved. It really is that simple.

But don't judge fandom *too* harshly. A lot of fans I know volunteer and give to worthy causes. For them fandom helps to decompress, relax and replenish themselves so they can continue to make the world a better place. Ya rly!
