175 - You probably won't read this far back into the comments, but oh god please don't do this to your son. I'm a girl with a boy's name, and growing up it was hell. It would be even worse to be a boy with a girl's name. Everyone will ask your son stuff like, "Did your mum want you to be a girl?" Etc. I can't even believe you'd be that selfish... jesus h christ.

Yes! I never found Navi annoying, I think it was she Link was looking for in Majora's Mask and it still chokes me up a little. Especially when Tatl is such an unpleasant reminder that Navi's gone (Navi told you about everything all nicely, Tatl just calls you an idiot or says she doesn't know half the time).

173. I watch both sub and dub. I personally dislike some dub voices, but I also dislike some of the Japanese voices. Orihime's Japanese voice in Bleach makes me want to claw my ears off, while Mello's dub voice in Death Note is brilliant. It's all a matter of taste. In my opinion, the manga is always better anyway. You get to use your own voices. English!Mello FTW.

I worked in a daycare, and we had kids named Ronin (with a generic 100% European background), JadeKai (yes, one word, random caps intended), and Per (pronounced pear). And some of my coworkers gushed about names like Andromeda.

175. I don't believe in gender-specific names, colors, etc. In fact, I used to have a boyfriend named Sally, and I just thought it was a cool name for him. I wish we lived in a society where it's okay for a girl to go by "Jack" or a guy "Tiffany". I really don't see what the big deal is. But we don't live in such a world. And because I wouldn't want my kids to be made fun of constantly, I probably won't be able to name them what I truly think would suit them.

-- I refuse to hold back the toy cars and robots from my daughter, though. As a kid, I always wanted to collect little dinosaur robots, but I wasn't allowed because they were considered "boy" toys. All I ever got were dolls. -_- --

And as much as I want to tell you to go ahead and name your son after something very meaningful (and super cool) to you-- you might want to weigh it out just a little bit first.

Anyway, like others have suggested, you can consider adopting a girl, using a slightly different version of the name to make it more "masculine" (whatever that means >.>), or you could tuck it away as a second middle name or something. XD

Though honestly, there's a good chance that he'll be make fun of no matter what name he has. Little kids are pretty cruel. They find something. ALWAYS.

SOMEONE AGREES. :O Honestly, I just tell it like it is when people at school exclaim their love for the series. Do people seriously crave controlling relationships in their life or what?

Best friends are hard, though. :/ I would not get on the topic too long--just tell her how you feel and be done with it, telling her you have a difference of opinions and you'd prefer to lose her friendship over a silly book/book series.
