I thought the new dub was pretty good -- I mean, Patrick freaking Stewart as Master Yupa -- but it can never replace the old Warriors of the Wind dub cast in my heart. 188 Some years ago around Mother's Day Cartoon Network had a phone in poll to choose the favorite cartoon mom and Race Bannon totally won. So whatever about people's childhood, especially since that cartoon is an often stereotypical, borderline racist document of early-60s American Imperialism anyway. If the viewers of Cartoon Network could have enough of a sense of humor about it, then people should just get over the fic.

And I think the only reason there isn't much of it is that the show isn't on Cartoon Network all the time anymore. Is it available on DVD?

173. I don't think English necessarily has more of an emotional appeal. You can still hear the emotion in the Japanese voices, even if you have to read the subs to tell what they're saying. Also, I've found that some of the dub voices seem rather flat. I laughed my ass of at the end of the Death Note dub, and it definitely wasn't meant to be funny.

I understand that this mama sounds selfish, but she also sounds about 16, so I'd say she has bigger problems than naming her boy after a girl.

It's more that we live in a world that judges boys and men harshly for being "feminine" (whatever that might mean). Giving a boy a name that's clearly meant for a girl is going to make things even more difficult for him.

131. I firmly believe that Mrs. Lovett had something to do with the initial inspiration for Harley Quinn. I mean, c’mon, she even calls her psychopathic beau “Mr. T” as often as anything else! They’re definitely in the same kind of archetype.

145. I don’t know, I’ve wanted to do a Battle Royale-style fan fiction or original story for a while now. There’s something about the raw emotion when all these poor teenagers are literally looking death in the eye that makes that story really intriguing. The novel is one of my favorite books ever.

173. I actually prefer the English to the Japanese as well. For me, the reason is that it’s hard for me to just sit and do nothing but watch something all the way through unless that’s all I’m doing. For something I’m going to watch over and over again, it’s going to be playing on the other half of my computer screen while I do homework. And it’s really hard to concentrate on homework when you’re trying to read subtitles with one eye.

I've never read an Archie comic, so my only Sonic/Sally experience is with SatAM, but agreed. I'm a neophyte fan who watched for the first time when the boxset came out last year---I don't think I would have appreciated it as much if I'd watched as a kid.

Putting Sonic in a more mature relationship and setting brought a different light to his character. Sally and Bunnie kicking ass didn't hurt either! Sally's a strong leader who has to follow in the footsteps of her father while protecting the Knothole group from Robotnik's empire, and Bunnie's come out of the horrors of the roboticizer and kept on fighting while keeping her charm. And they have Sonic, who's serious about fighting Robotnik but can't resist having a little fun along the way. Amy has her moments, but I couldn't appreciate her as much as I do the SatAM cast.

This secret's inspired me to try RPing Sal again, this time I hope it works out---and canonmates wouldn't be too shabby either. *crosses fingers*
