While I get the sentiment, I still love the rest of my fandoms as well, but then again I love the women in my other fandoms too so it wasn't like Avatar changed the way I am interact with them. What it might influence is all the shows that came after it, not the ones that came before it.

172: If voices are talking to you, like you can hear them, you're most likely not bipolar but schizophrenic. The two can be confused or misdiagnosed quite often.

I'm bipolar, and I know how you feel though. I don't want anyone to find out about me either :/ As much as people claim they're caring and open minded, they all judge and distance themselves from you once they know you're "crazy", even if you haven't even changed and are the same person they supposedly liked since they found out. Just the knowledge you are is enough to make them back off from you.

I'm bipolar as well, and I have a schizophrenic aunt, and I second everything this anonymous says. What you say in your secret is ambiguous, and depending on how literal you are when you say you *hear* them, and whether those periods are confined to an extreme manic height, you may want to talk to your doctor.

I understand your position though. I'm a writer; I do write fanfiction but I'm focusing on becoming a professional writer. And I completely reject that connection between madness and creativity.

But I also have to add that I ended up coming out to my flist as bipolar, and I was shocked by how supportive people were. In fact, I learned that several people on my flist were bipolar as well. I'm still paranoid about people finding out because I'm afraid they'll see the illness instead of me, but for what it's worth, I've been "out" for a year and I haven't yet had a negative experience.

104) I was like that a few years ago: drawing passable fancomics and writing okay fic. I just decided that I wanted to pursue writing more, and put my effort solidly into that. I still doodle for kicks, I can still draw a passable funny little fanart, but I'm fairly well-known known for my unconventional fic and I'm much happier for that. Focusing on improving yourself can help a lot. Just push yourself as an artist/author/both, and you'll get better!

131. I really don't see why you should be afraid of ppl thinking you believe in god. I'm an atheist too, and I think crosses are beautiful, I have many and I used to wear them all the time (I don't use them anymore because I'm not into wearing necklaces nowadays). No one has ever asked me if I believed in god because of that. Crosses mean to me nothing more than beautiful accessories, I don't see why you should care what ppl think, and it's not like you need their approval to use crosses or sth, hehe. Just be happy! :)
