Unrelated to the secret, but GOD YES, THIS!!! I want to smack people (especially people that should be somewhat well-educated) that confuse them!!

But about the bipolar thing, some people with bipolar disorder can experience psychotic breaks from time to time. But if they become more of a constant than an every now and then thing, then it's more "fitting" (for lack of a better term) for a separate or refined diagnosis.

Yeah, here's the nerd who has fanfiction on her iPod. I have no excuse. I just really ENJOYED IT. (lulz A LIFE? WHERE CAN I DOWNLOAD ONE OF THOSE???) OTL And if it helps, her name's on the composer and album list. ;.; Her accent when she does Layton's or Luke's voice is just so cute, too! >3

104. Heh, I think like you an awful lot. I'm a jack of all trades--pretty good at a lot of stuff, but not outstanding at any one. It feels especially alienating to be in fandom when you're like that, because so many people have their 'things,' like fic, art, icons, or whatever.

But recently, when I was getting kind of depressed over it, I got to thinking...if given the choice, would I actually be able to choose greatness in one ability of mine, to the total detriment of the others? And I found that I couldn't.

There are so many different situations in my life where I need certain skills, and if I didn't have all of them, I'd be at a big disadvantage. The people who are naturally talented in one area might just envy you, because once they're put outside of their own comfort zones, they won't do that well. I'd rather make all Bs in school than one A+ accompanied by Ds. Just think of it like that, and maybe you'll change your mind.

123. There are plenty of manga to read out there that don't have sexist undertones, especially not comparable to the straight-up offensive shit in Bakuman. You just have to know where to look. Fullmetal Alchemist and D.Gray-man are good choices, but frankly, the misogyny rampant in both fandoms makes many people think twice about getting involved. Dumb fans don't speak for the storylines and characters, though.

My health got really bad and I ended up losing my job (which I totally LOVED and could have done for the rest of my life, office politics notwithstanding), so now I have nothing to do but sit around on LJ and do fandom stuff. And I'm happier than I've been in a long time! I think working 12+ hours a day just grinds you down no matter how much you love what you do. But good luck with your job and your new place!

Auw, no reason to freak out. Hearing voices is a good thing in this business. I have the same problem, truth be told, though I haven’t been diagnosed with anything. As long as the voices aren’t telling you to slaughter the people around you or rape chickens or anything else of that same kind of obscenely immoral and/or illegal trend, it’s really not something to worry about. ^_^
