164. I just caught up on the graphic novels in a huge binge (like, 40 at a time) and remembered why I'd stopped reading them. They just didn't interest me much. As for the show, I've seen the first half of the premiere and I think it swerves the boat into another part of the water, but I'm sure the fan community was online picking apart every imperfection and inane bit of writing ten minutes after the Comic-Con panel and about 50% have already talked themselves into despising the rest of the season sight unseen. I'm reserving judgment until I've seen the second hour.

110. I want to say I've heard/seen "mum" being used like "ma'am" in som British literature, and to be fair, with the right regional accent, it would sound nearly the same (I don't hear "ma'am" here that often, but it could just be compared to what I'm used to).

171. Zuko is a whiny emo semi-puss when the series starts out. One of the things that's so amazing about the series, for me, anyway, is the beautiful and realistic transformation he has as he grows up out of that into a fairly mature young man willing to make a stand, see right and wrong for what they are even when the choice is hard, and generally be a decent human being and a younger version of Iroh.

...I think that, uh, you have your terminology messed up. I mean, people with bipolar disorder don't normally have voices in their heads...possibly it could make you more creative, according to wikipedia, at least (quite a few "creative geniuses" have had bipolar disorder). Schizophrenia is the one normally associated with voices in your head. Just FYI.

Just going to jump in here. While it is technically correct that Schizophrenia is generally associated with hallucinations like hearing voices, it's not unheard of for a person suffering from bipolar disorder to experience psychosis (which often includes hallucinations) during a manic phase of the illness.
