132. I'd be inclined to agree with you in that one regard, but when you consider the other stuff that the manga has included ('Men have dreams that women can't understand,' 'Girls just want to get married and they're smart if they figure out how to do it,') then I really can't.

Bakuman just includes some really repulsive messages from its characters, most of which can't be summed up to its status as a parody manga. I had to quit reading after chapter 2. The fact that so many people are willing to defend it when it's indefensible says a lot.

I don't know if you've actually been diagnosed as bipolar, or if someone just told you you were (or maybe wikipedia told you). Either way, though, if you are hearing voices and your psychiatrist does not know about it, you need to tell him/her. It means that whatever meds you're on are not controlling your symptoms, and it also probably means you've not been diagnosed correctly (look up schitzoaffective vs bipolar disorders).

Hearing voices should not be a normal feature of any properly-treated disorder, bipolar or otherwise. And if you are hearing voices and aren't on an anti-psychotic like risperdol or seroquel, you probably need to consider starting one. Please talk to your doctor about it.

I think it's interesting that all these people who claim to be in the psych field that are commenting on this secret don't realize that it's possible to have coexisting bipolar and schizoaffective disorder.

Also, I've researched bipolar quite extensively (since I'm bipolar I) and talked to others that have it and there's been plenty of people who have had auditory hallucinations during a manic stage. Really it's just a psychotic symptom. I have them all the time when I go through manic episodes, I just have delusions rather than hallucinations. It's still psychosis.

Of course it doesn't matter what label you give your symptoms, in the end it just boils down to "wow I'm clinically insane".

119 - I had something similar happen with me. I couldn't afford the internet and became almost completely inactive in fandom. It was depressing. I've never felt so alone. (Although that could be because my town had a population of a couple hundred and I didn't know anyone who liked any of the same things I do.)
