I don't know why you would feel like a bad person. I've seen this sentiment expressed by other Ares/Xena fans before but there's no need to apologize for the couple. Regardless of any ship's content, it's fiction all the same.

Besides, Ares is the Xena/Hercules universe's bicycle - everyone looks good on top and below him. He is fantastic in that way.

Admittedly the first book is the one I don't re-read often enough (The third is my favorite), but I do remember only seeing or hearing about Kitty Pong in passing until the second book. The movie, frankly, gave her a little bit more to do.

We don't get to see a lot of Eddie's OTT foolishness - God I hope we get a third movie just for...well, you know I'm sure. There are a LOT of people in these books and I appreciate not wanting to hit us w/ all of them at once.

I do wish Eleanor was a bit more meddling...but part of me is also going "I don't want to see Michelle Yeoh act like a nagging nuisance.". I do expect Eleanor to be more underhanded in trying to stop the wedding or give Nick doubts in the 2nd movie.

Though with John Chu directing In The Heights, I wonder how long we'll have to wait.

Same. Also because I like when the writer has different ideas. It fuels my daydreams. I don't want the fanfic I read to be what I watch in my head already.

I think part of it is that femslash writers don't have the association of sexual roles with rigid personality archetypes that slash fandom does (probably partly because they don't necessarily have the same historical background, where that was utterly commonplace in slash fandoms, and femslash fandoms have a distinct history, and partly because more femslash writers are queer women than slash writers are queer men) and partly because contemporary femslash seems to have a strong preference for relatively conflict-free egalitarian undramatic relationships. so between those things the question is not as significant and everyone mostly agrees anyway.

Idk tho, that's just a wild guess, also I can't really claim to know every single femslash fandom out there so grain of salt.
