I haven't been reading much about TS3 but my thoughts on this secret are both "LMAO" and "Yesssssssssssss"

This is seriously the most satisfying and exciting thing I've heard all day!!

164; (not just 'able' but 'albe' :D)
It's been bothering me quite a bit as well... I've switched to doing little funny obsessive set ups; three space couch/one space TV, two space couch/two space TV. But not with that my life is changed. (glad I haven't done much w/ Sims2) I hope they do something about how those goofball sims act though... >.>

Okay, there's definitely Big Brother fans out there who aren't me, so ... there's gotta be a community out there on LJ somewhere.

I agree and disagree. At least a good number of yaoi titles, except the blatant ones that's all about the power positions in the relationship, try to even out the relationship between the seme and uke, and usually the uke does have ambitions outside of love. Twilight is more of a typical smut shoujo where the girl usually fit the bill of who Bella is, just without the smut. But I ain't gonna lie they share the tropes in the romance genre.

I would say Twilight is a really badly done shoujo manga. And the funny part there is a shoujo manga of it too.

So, you're all 'Ugh, McKay is old, ugly, boring and fat' and then suggest a random, generic, completely uncharacterised, Marilyn Manson wannabe, vagina-handed substitute?

McShep shippers aren't the ones with problems, dude.

[identity profile] julia-here.livejournal.com 2008-09-24 02:03 am (UTC)(link)
I am re-amused because I just remembered that Hewlett is a year younger than Flanigan (and they're both hot).

[identity profile] akai_senshi.livejournal.com 2008-09-24 01:33 am (UTC)(link)
107. You have a very unlucky fandom.
108. Awesome.
113. I do like Viletta/Ougi, but I think you’re making us Shirley fans look bad.
118. LOL
120. YAAAY Kinnikuman secret!
122. OMG yes. Actually, IMHO, stereotypical het led to stereotypical yaoi, so…
126. I think there are plenty of people like you.
132. Everyone thought Jo and Blair were doing it.
143. You can ship whoever you want…and that pairing makes a HELL of a lot of sense, really.

140: I used to read that comic! Until their comic became insanely repetitive and the characters seemed to just repeat themselves.

164: NO WAY! I am so HAPPY now. I've been a lifelong Sims fan. Didn't have any interest in The Sims 3 at first, seemed like Monster by Mistake graphics and really no different, but researched and want it badly. You just made me want it even more.

109 - ;_; You are not alone... oh Wilson! House! Be still, my aching heart! FIND EACH OTHER AGAIN! DDD:

116 - Well really, I mean... what do they expect us to think? XD

119 - YOU DIDN'T KNOW THAT ALREADY? WELCOME TO THE FOLD, BB~

not secret 1 - I don't care! I enjoy my fantasies. :)

too big 3 - I've got WALL-E love! :D Love to spare and then some!

THANK YOU.
I'm SO glad I'm not the only person going type A over this.

113. I don't think you're using 'Mary Sue' correctly. C.C. is fucked-up and knows it.

Oooh, I love some Dwight myself. Has he put out any new stuff recently?

*hasn't listened to new country in years*

Re: 106

(Anonymous) 2008-09-24 03:03 am (UTC)(link)
OP here. ;-)

He put out an album called Dwight Sings Buck as a tribute to Buck Owens last year, and he's been pretty active music wise over the last few years, but not listening to new country myself (not like they'd be playing it on mainstream country radio anyway), I haven't heard much. I guess that's what YouTube and iTunes are for: to show me what I've missed.

The man just has a swing in his voice that makes me ache, and a smoldering gaze from under the hat that makes me melt. *swoons* I'm 6 months single, does it show?

(Anonymous) 2008-09-24 02:10 am (UTC)(link)
156. I know people try to tell you differently all the time (hi, high school social studies!), but you are not responsible for what your ancestors did.

NS!1: I don't want it to happen now. Not after they killed off Amber. That's what slashers do. I don't want any fandom's canon to sink to their level.

126. I can relate to this a lot actually, except I have contemplated my sexuality, like most shoujo and some shounen, like drama when I'm not involved, and don't know about the decently good looking part. But as much as that seems like I don't relate, I do.

139. Wait, this is Big Brother, right???

150. Is this Big Brother day at F!S? I'm loving it!

[identity profile] headswedance.livejournal.com 2008-09-24 01:05 pm (UTC)(link)
We need more of them... and a BB fandom.

(Anonymous) 2008-09-24 02:32 am (UTC)(link)
It doesn't drive me crazy, but in, say, Supernatural fiction, it throws me right the hell out of the story when Sam 'throws his torch in the boot' and then 'whinges whilst putting a plaster on his wound'.

I once wrote a really long rant about how 2 blue-collar American boys wouldn't say 'whilst' or 'perhaps', like ever, and then realized it would just piss people off so now it just sits on my hard-drive, growing bigger and bigger as I find more things to add. 'Bloody' and 'Oi' just make me roll my eyes and move on, but when they use words that mean entirely different things in America, or don't mean anything here, like 'Have a lie-in', it makes me twitch. Also, the spelling of tire as 'tyre' makes me laugh like a loon.

Re: 135

(Anonymous) 2008-09-25 06:24 am (UTC)(link)
I don't think "perhaps" is as "upper-class" or foreign as you seem to think it is.

101. I am on episode 7. I love it like mad.

133 - Schuldig! You have excellent taste in telepathic assassins, and I even like his outrageous taste in clothing. But forget sex; I'd rather hang out with bad-ass Schwarz and make snarky comments about Weiss.

[identity profile] honestys-easy.livejournal.com 2008-09-24 02:57 am (UTC)(link)
116. I'm actually starting to think those two are going to start fucking just for the lulz.

135. But when we do "try" we make every character sound like Eliza Doolittle or a really shitty impression of Eddie Izzard. And that's not even to mention the fail that goes on when Americans write Japanese characters.

144. I have tons of ships in lots of fandoms...mostly the term OTP to me means that there's one couple that does it for me in every sense. They're the ones that always made sense to me and weren't just a mashup/only works if I turn my head and squint/etc. They're the one that I can never stop reading or writing about. There are pairings and there are pairings - but it doesn't mean that I only like that pairing or that I'll flame anyone who writes the characters paired with others.

164. OMG SERIOUSLY I COMPLETELY AGREE. And coffee tables, too! (three-tiled coffee tables just look unnatural.)

126. Take away the "uninterested in yaoi" and age yourself up a year and you're me, basically. I hate shoujo/love shounen, have no interest whatsoever in girly-looking Asian "musicians," am 100% heterosexual and totally sure of that fact, have yet to experience significant fandom drama (and avoid such things like the plague), and have been in fandom...well, maybe not fandom-fandom for 10+ years but I've been watching anime since the fourth or fifth grade. We should be friends! ♥

I never thought I'd get into slash, much less have a M/M OTP. I enjoy any well-executed romance or erotica that appeals to me, but I didn't know the feeling of being whacked with a giant sledgehammer of fangirl squee.

A few months ago, I was pondering the personality similarities between my two favorite characters. I figured that if they had the chance, they would at least be friends. That led to some powerful mental images of them being much closer than that. Said images kept running around in my brain until I caved and wrote my first smut fic ever.

I'd never seen the pairing done until I wrote it. Thus, it gave me a chance to cover new ground. It continues to inspire me. And it cheers me up when work is stressing me out. There are other pairings I would count among my favorites, but nobody takes hold of my imagination like my guys do.

141- I am getting bored with the character. He isn't growing, changing or improving. There is nothing redemable about him.
