135. I think the OP just hasn't seen the depths of bad writing from Americans in British fandoms. (And heck, if you're an American, you *won't* see all of the Americanisms people might be putting in British fandoms.)

But I do seem to see a lot more *good* non-American writers failing to get Ameri-picked than I see *good* American writers not getting a Britpick. I think it's more jarring in a way to see Americanisms in a story that's otherwise got pitch-perfect voices -- once I'm starting to read past typos and other things, I'll read past inaccurate dialect.

(And it's worse when it's canon (or semi-canon). Big Finish Productions, just a tip: the "first floor" in a US house is not somewhere you'd run up stairs to so that the bad guys can't break in the windows and come right in. That would be the "second floor" over here.)

Oh, lord. They are the WORST when it comes to fucking up Americanisms. It's gotten so bad that I can barely listen to any audio set in the US. Between the unbelievably horrible accents and all the dialect failures it's torture. And I am a complete BF addict. I should bring this up at the next con those guys are at. There is no excuse for that kind of laziness.

My friends and I are constantly referring to each other as 'mate.
I heard the phrase 'bloody hell' at least daily in an annoyance use.
I get told that I say 'oi' too much.

I think it depends on the country, but I do agree with what you are saying in part; it is used too much and for the most part just for an 'English' accent, when it is usually only a certain dialect, like mine for example.

105. McKay is an enjoyable and comedically tradgic character that many nerds can identify with. He's someone who takes pride in who he is, but childishly throws a fit over someone toying over him. It's amusing and fans react well to his routine with Sheppard (I don't mean that in a shipping way, but the chemistry they have is fun and keeps the show lively).

109. A lot of people were torn up over that episode. You can be assured that you don't have to hide your feelings from the fandom. I myself was terribly upset over what happened (plus I was a bit ticked off at Wilson... okay, not ticked, pissed. I knew he did what he felt was right and I could understand how his words seemed approriate at the time, but I'd been in House's shoes a few times too many in my lifetime, so it struck an uncomfortable nerve in me). I think I cried for a good five minutes or so. I had been expecting something to come in the way of House and Wilsons' friendship after the end of season 5, but definitely not something as big as that. ;_;
