Sarah Brightman's new album, Hymn. The Avengers:Endgame soundtrack (was so-so on the movie, but the music was great). The Tolkien soundtrack. Metal groups I recently discovered: Wyrd, Powerwolf, and Manegarm.

Vampire Weekend's Father of the Bride. So nice to have some new music from them, and I love the variety on this album.

Frustrating beta

So I have a beta for my fic who seems to have this belief that everything in the fic needs a reason to be there or to 'fit' . Which you know I'd be fine with.

Except everything she personally doesnt like seems to "not fit" and when i try to make it a part of the fic, I'm "forcing it" and for the fic to be good I need to "let it go". It's annoying when most of the time I'm cutting ideas i want to use because they never seem to "fit" in my fic. According to her.

It's getting to the point where I dont enjoy fic writing anymore. I tried to talk this out with her but all she could say is "maybe you should quit then". I feel like a bad author for wanting to leave my beta but, if I dont enjoy writing with her,what's the point?

What do you guys think about the whole "this trope/ship needs a good reason to be allowed" idea? I'm starting to hate it because it feels like someone going through my things and tossing them out saying "you dont need that".

I’m glad I never got into the show, because just from spoilers and seeing peoples’ reactions I think I would hate this last season. I feel bad for everybody who’s been let down by it, and I hope there’s lots of great fix-it-fic being written.

I think I've joined the tin hat club. I can't help but think that based on their public interaction, a famous person (who is married, has kids, and presumably straight) has a crush on another famous person (who is also married, has a kid, and is also presumably straight). Part of me knows it's stupid. But most of me finds the idea too entertaining to care. Which would be reasonable, except they're real people, so it strikes me as something I really shouldn't say off anon.
