The people who most ardently believe you don't have that right are the copyright holders of the source materials, because they need to protect their meal tickets. The rest are fans who are (not incorrectly) concerned that allowing fanfic writers to openly solicit payments will eventually lead to aforementioned copyright holders and their lawyers bringing their wrath down upon all fanfiction altogether.

It's nothing about you as a person, so get over yourself. Everyone only cares about how it will affect them.

He was trying to do his job and be friends with the main characters, but they continued to harass him for something he had no control over. Their inability to pay rent, and his need to report that to his superiors.

It's been too long since I watched/listened to the show, but he was very sympathetic to the main characters, and let Mimi go just as soon as she wanted to. Knowing she never really felt anything for him, only loving Rodger.
He was still there for them at every turn, be it Angel's funeral, or Maureen's concert. Warning them when need be (Maureen), and supporting them even when he was seen as their enemy. (Angel)
He seemed to lose at every turn, but took the brunt of the fall when things got rough, Though again, I might not remember things as they happened. I just really loved him.

Lilacs grow where I live but bloom and wilt several weeks too soon, so I've resorted to buying artificial fabric/plastic flowers to go with a Truth! Justice! Freedom! etc shirt.
FYI getting cut lilacs in stores does not seem feasable, they wilt very fast when cut. The one year they bloomed late and I got my hands on real flowers, one hour after they were already dead, so unless flower shops use very strong chemicals to preserve them, they'll never make it intact to the customer.

It’s very true. My craving for responses can sometimes be at odds with my fear of negative responses. Then again, that’s why it’s easiest here. Anonymously, nobody will know that the weirdo who said awkward thing #1 is the same person as the weirdo who said completely unrelated awkward thing #2. The lack of building up a reputation makes me less afraid to possibly be awkward. Past faux pas won’t affect people’s thoughts going into a new post. (What’s the plural of faux pas? Faux pases? Faux pasta?)

With you there anon. I think it's a bit of an art form writing stories that take the canon or plot seriously enough but not TOO seriously, while also hitting all the right romance or friendship notes to be emotionally satisfying to read.

I don't think I'm unconsciously more sexist than I think I am - Obviously - But I appreciate the overall sentiment.
