They hate Stark because they sat next to their dead family and stared at a bomb with STARK INDUSTRIES on the side for days. I think that would make me hate someone too.

(Anonymous) 2019-05-30 11:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Sure, but if you're going to decide that becoming a Nazi science project is a viable life choice, you probably ought to go after the people who dropped the bomb on your family instead of the guy whose company manufactured it. Pietro and Wanda did the equivalent of becoming rogue cops so they could hunt down and murder the guy who owns the store that sold the matches that were used to burn their house down, while completely ignoring the arsonist.

(Anonymous) 2019-05-30 11:34 pm (UTC)(link)
They didn't know they were joining a Nazi offshot. They were traumatized kids who were approached by a kindly authority figure who offered them the chance to save their country.

Someone was staring at a Glock gun while being held hostage. Do they hate the company Glock GmbH or their kidnapers?

(Anonymous) 2019-05-30 11:47 pm (UTC)(link)
They don't HAVE a direct person like a kidnapper. They have a *very* popular celebrity who brags about making weapons. It isn't like Tony Stark is just some unknown gun manufacturer. He is a celebrity. If Tom Cruise made a crossbow that killed your parent, you would hate Tom Cruise.

Really? "guns don't kill people, people kill people"? That's really the line of defense that you're going with here?

People were so determined to find a reason to complain about both Tony Stark and Whedon that they apparently didn't notice that the whole Sokovia thing is, in fact, Tony getting called out for being a war monger.

This.

OP

That's what I don't get. Wouldn't people want US soldiers to have the best equipement? How does it translate to war mngering.
It's MCU world, I know, but I don't get the logic. It's common sense that it's goverment's fault when terrorists get their hand on US Army weapons.

Well, they include some politics, like UN and NATO, Senators, journalism and PR. I usually skip these parts.

I don't think they did like America.

(Anonymous) 2019-05-31 12:21 am (UTC)(link)
Or the Avengers as avengers, but Captain America, while symbolic of America, was himself a WWII fallen hero. And a lot of people do not regard WWII soldiers the way they do other soldiers. So, while they might have hated America, I don't think they would have had any specific animus for Captain America, except maybe as leader of the Avengers.

This. A WWII soldier was *actually* a good guy, other than being 'American' - they liberated and won and were applauded and cheered, just like the other allied soldiers.

It's only as our politics have gotten a metric shit-ton more horrifying that people are starting to hate US soldiers *as* soldiers.

He's no longer a WWII hero, though. He's the face of Western imperialism in CW.

I'm sorry: Captain america lifting Thors hammer is disrespectful to Scandinavian countries?

FUCKING HOW?

I'm a follower of the Aesir myself, and if I was going to get bent out of shape about anything, it wouldn't be them breaking a made up rule about Mjolnir.

Like... Where is thors belt? Where are his gauntlets? Where is his big full red beard? Let's not even get started on Loki...

The "None but the worthy" crap was invented for the comics. In reality, loads of people, some of whom were decidedly unworthy, were able to lift the hammer. Thrym stole it and was going to blackmail Freya into being his wife... That sound worthy to anyone?

Sometimes white people feel left out because no one is oppressing them. These are their stories.

Of course they don’t, because American media overlooks the dark hypocritical underbelly of the shitshow that is America. It's in plain view for the rest of the world to see though.

Frankly, a lot of countries have the same issue of course, but in this instance we"re talking about 'Murica.

There was a deleted scene where you see graffiti on a wall in Sokovia where Cap is called a fascist.
