101. I'm not a teenager, in a stable, healthy relationship that's lasted over a decade. And I love reading (good) ship-stuff. I'm hopefully never going to fall in love again; I'm happy with the SO I've got. Is there something so wrong with getting a kick out of reading fluffy fannish get-togethers that may be a little juvenile? Not in my book; it gives me the chance to remember being 18 and in love for the first time.

I can see that, too. I can see a lot of different possibilities for their relationship with each other and with daddy Hawthorne. I guess I like to interpret it this way because it involves Dahlia being vulnerable, and that fascinates me.

If we stay on the pseudo-incestuous angle, I can see either one of them starting it, and both damaging each other. I've thought sometimes that an interesting take would be that Valerie feels horribly guilty, and uses the kidnapping to break things off, but Dahlia has become so emotionally invested (because she's otherwise starved for affection) that she views it as rejection and it contributes to her hardening into the remorseless killer she later becomes.

But certainly there are many other interpretations that don't involve any sort of sexual relationship.

101:For me, I usually ship characters who have a close relationship with each other(even though I have few crack pairings as well), that could lead to a possible romantic relationship. I know most of my pairings won't come true, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying their relationship, even as "just friends". At least, that's how I view my shipping.
