She's the exact same self-centered joke she was at the beginning of the show. She's insensitive, cannot relate to others, and only cares about herself.

The handful of moments where she was shown to connect to people and have grown (her talk with Stevie, the wolf pup speech in the last ep) felt disconnected from how she is written the rest of the time. She plans her departure for the day of her son's wedding, wants him to change the date when called out, and when told by her husband they'll fly the morning after she complains that only the other flight has lie-flat seats. This was the penultimate ep before the finale.

She is horrible and I don't understand how the other characters can endure her.

After having been a canon lore junkie for over a decade in my fandoms, recent canon releases have made me realize it's far more fun when you choose your own canon and story.

That way, I can say and choose these things as my personal rule.

I can pretend THIS is canon...

I have a "friend" who has a spouse, children, a pet, and an essential job so she goes to work. She's even in fandom. And yet she complains to me that social distancing is hard because she can't see her new friends once a week for lunch.

I work from home. I live alone. I don't have a pet. I'm not even in fandom. Friend, my ass.

I finally had a chance to watch The Mandalorian. It's oddly compelling and well crafted, but it's too hard to be a casual fan in Star Wars fandom. It feels like everyone there has read all the books and seen all the shows and movies, and I haven't.

Anyway, I don't even think The Mandalorian is all that good. The story isn't particularly original and the characters are just archetypes.
