Re: What was the first fandom you made your first fanwork in?

It might have been a (sigh) parody comic with a Punisher-ish antihero arguing with TMNT over which of them would get to bring a criminal to justice, sometime in elementary school in the ‘90s (I didn’t have deep knowledge of either besides watching a few TMNT episodes, though).

OP, have you never experienced the joys of toasted white bread with butter?

Xena, Warrior Princess and Hercules, by extension.

i think digimon was my first mental fandom -- I crushed so hard on Tai & Matt

I bet they're getting more bold with fewer people out and about and fewer cars on the roads.

what was it about? i watched the enfire series for the first time a few months ago!

All i know is thete is one scene that i can't tell if thd creators are poking fun at the tropes or if it was for real (the scene in tbe woods were there's just continous cuts to and from tbe watery eyes of three of the protagonists. it cracked me up.

(Anonymous) 2020-04-17 02:41 am (UTC)(link)
Absolutely. Like it's all interpretation for the most part, it happens a lot where I see a character way different than the common characterization, but so long as I get where they're coming from I actually like to see the different aspects of the character, it's only when there's like zero likeness I get annoyed;; It's probably what I liked most about old fandom was the different interpretations people tended to have about characters, now it's just one or none.
But honestly, I was just been lucky with the fandoms I was in. It's crazy drastically the fans will change even in fandoms that even seem like they'd be overlapping. It's a lottery;;

That post was about why people would read fanfiction like that. But if anything, it seems easier to come up with reasons why someone might find it an interesting exercise to write fanfiction like that

(Anonymous) 2020-04-17 02:49 am (UTC)(link)
It can be about a lot of different things. Fanfiction doesn't have to be just one thing. Even the most direct, faithful fanfiction is changing things about the source material, and there's plenty of fanfiction that comes out of anger or dislike of the source material, or that rejects part of the canon entirely.

Classic Doctor Who, TOS.

Thanks for making my secret! That is a nice loaf of bread.

Luckily my cat ran up right as the racoon ran away. The poor thing looked young, since I know they get bigger than that, so I hope the neighbourhood cats don't bully him too much. We don't have a bird feeder anymore, but I can totally imagine a swarm of them trying to climb the tree and get at the food! <3

Oh no! My cat stays indoors, so they shouldn't clash too much. I'm sorry about your chickens! I love hearing about them! I have coyotes in my area and people lost a few pets to them, it's always scary living close to wild animals, especially when you don't expect it.

(Anonymous) 2020-04-17 03:04 am (UTC)(link)
Of course I have. Simple and delicious! But a stale or moldy slice of bread? No thanks. Some celebrities have personalities that are equivalent of stale, moldy bread and yet they have fans somehow.

Oh most likely, everyone's staying at home too for the most part so everyones trash is bound to be overfilled as well. I think it was more curious since we were watching a show with a lot of flashing lights, otherwise I don't think the little guy would come right up to the window like he did. Also a lot of nearby land is (or was) being developed into housing, most of it being open fields/tree lines, I remember when the open lot beside our house got bought and built on all the mice had to scatter and most of the nearby houses got infested. Of course racoons can be urban animals so the loss of land might not have much of an impact with them.

Even 'hot' is subjective. One person may find a celebrity 'hot' while another person may find that same celebrity not hot or meh.

Oh totally. What I meant is they find them hot and that overpowers any blah they might see. Sometimes it is that way for me where I might think an actor is a bit dull but they are hot enough that I don't care.

(Anonymous) 2020-04-17 03:18 am (UTC)(link)
They look dead in the eyes and don't express any emotion.

Keeping hydrated is key to not getting a hangover, alcohol drains you like a sieve and the best thing is to drink water as your drinking. People normally only have a glass before they go to bed, but while it helps, it's not gonna be enough most of the time. I usually stick to wine since it doesn't leave me feeling too worse for wear the next day. I tend to be a pretty good drunk, I don't think I've ever been over the top smashed, but at the same time I have a high tolerance as well so I usually don't bother wasting a whole box of wine in order to get there;;

My best hangover tip is /not/ to drink coffee after you've been drinking. The stimulants and its low level of hydration just makes everything worse. Movie cure be damned!

I try to drink at least the same amount of water as wine (and more if I'm drinking harder stuff).

Xena! I'm currently watching the series as a whole and it's hilariously bad! I love it!

(Anonymous) 2020-04-17 03:28 am (UTC)(link)
None of that is to the point of not even writing about the actual characters though. Of course fanfiction can be anything, but at a certain point, it entirely stops being "fanfiction".

(Anonymous) 2020-04-17 03:29 am (UTC)(link)
Even if they do something bad, how does someone stay attracted to them? I don't get that at all.

[personal profile] philstar22 2020-04-17 03:31 am (UTC)(link)
Now that I don't know (depending on what it is). Bad things that matter to me are a deal breaker for me when it comes to attraction.

OP here.

Was it the one with Halle Berry? IIRC, I think it was.
