Aughh! Two or three of those might have been mine, maybe!??
I am so sorry if they are mine, I basically only use my IPad Mini as my personal computer and despite downloading various apps (of which I've done recently which is why I think a few of them might be mine) and attempting to resize my secrets though e-mailing them to myself, I have not yet figured out how to properly check the image size or shrink them and still have them be legible/decent looking.

In the future I'll certainly find a way to confirm the size of the image before I post it, most certainly. If it was me I am so sorry for causing you extra work when you're already the life of this community.
You're going above and beyond already, so I can't imagine anyone having any sort of issues with you posting later than normal, especially since you're doing us a favour by doing this work for us, and ultimately in the environment we're having to face as of late.

What's the deal with Age Play?

I recently noticed a surge of non sexual Age Play in my fandoms and tried to google, but all I got is fic. Nothing academical. This trope makes me so confused. Who wants to wear diapers? What's in this for Caregiver characters?

There's a few SPN fics with forced non sexual Age Play and, like, why? It's not even about trust anymore, and I really doubt that it's possible to forcibly convert someone into Age Play.

I'm not hating, but I don't get it. Any thoughts?

I don't understand it either and I find it a bit creepy personally but to each their own I suppose.

Could be the fetish part of it being gratifying even when the material itself isn't explicitly NSFW? Dunno.

It's not my kink, but as I understand it, it's about taking care of someone/getting taken care of, even in non-con situations. By giving in to the forced age play, you're trusting the other to see you at your most vulnerable, or so it's seen from the abuser's POV.

I once discussed this with someone who wrote a lot of Age Play fics, and apparently this was their way of dealing with losing a child. Another said they were dealing with childhood abuse trauma.

Often these fics ends with mindbreak, the victim losing their previous identity and as a reward get to be "safe".

I just found out one of my old favourite authors just deleted all their work (I think there were maybe 400 or something like that? a ridiculously high number of fics) from everywhere (even from Wayback Machine, which I didn't even know you could do) so they could publish some of the stuff.
Good for them, but also, lemme cry inside just a lil bit, because of course I didn't have anything of theirs saved.

So now I'm panicking and downloading every fic I have bookmarked and ughh. Even when I'm only keeping my favourites, there are still about 500 I need to dowload. And most are bookmarked on my phone, so I have to type out titles and usernames on my laptop individually. FML. (and I don't do bookmark syncing between devices, because Google creeps me out)

I don't even wanna think about it when I'm through with AO3 and have to start saving tumblr and kinkmeme entries.

Anyway, so have you deleted a fic? Would you still do it, if you knew people were gonna miss it?

Has anyone seen this? I'd heard nothing but bad reviews, but since they all fell into three categories (rightwingers complaining that it's "too PC" which can be automatically ignored in my opinion; people complaining it's unrealistic/"too happy" which I'm certainly not going to complain about given how depressing the world is right now; and people complaining about the Ryan Murphy-ness of it, which doesn't bother me) I binged it yesterday and really enjoyed it.

Yes, it's unrealistic and happy and things didn't actually happen the way they do in the show, but that's the whole point. The entire premise of the show is "what if things had happened differently?", which a lot people don't seem to get for some reason. And yeah, there are dumb aspects and things that don't make sense, but it's Ryan Murphy. That's kind of his thing. There are some heartwarming/emotional moments, some that piss you off, but for the most part it makes you care about the characters and it's entertaining (it probably reminded me of 911 the most of any of his stuff, even though the plot is completely different). And there's a super adorable canon M/M couple which is always a bonus (at least to me).

IDK, it wasn't perfect but I really liked it. Has anyone else seen it? What did you think?
