138. What's wrong with a country representing America wearing glasses? Is wearing glasses some sort of ~mystical taboo~ in the US? I certainly didn't know about it. I agree in saying that there should be more female characters in the series, but there's nothing really wrong with the slash or having most of the countries represented in the series personified as males.

Just because you seem very irritated about this, just wanted to point out that I don't think that's what the OP was trying to say? I don't really get his/her amount of anger over it, but I think s/he really has a problem with the people who are like, "I HATE ALL ANIME IT'S STUPID CARTOONS AND YOU SHOULD WATCH THINGS THAT AREN'T LAME CARTOONS" (since the argument was that it's all fiction, and the fictional stories with real life actors aren't inherently better than the ones that happen to be drawn), the ones that complain that there are anime secrets here in the first place (though I haven't seen that in a while), and the ones who say "I SKIP ALL ANIME SECRETS" like it's something special and unique.

Although, truth told, the last two irritate me no matter if it's for anime or something else. Just because you (general you, here, not you) don't find anime, or Doctor Who, or Supernatural, or whatever secrets interesting, doesn't really mean the reasonable response is "OMG PEOPLE STOP MAKING SECRETS ABOUT THEM," because they're making secrets about what they're interested in and you can always skip them. And you're totally right, many people skip secrets they have no interest in, and I suspect there are quite a few that skip all the secrets that don't relate to fandoms they're in. Once someone starts going "omg look at meeeee I skip over all of theeese secrets" it starts seeming kind of smug and better-than-thou, to me. At best there's absolutely no point to it, because if someone doesn't like anime/isn't in any anime fandoms, there's no reason they shouldn't skip the anime secrets. It's really no big deal, and it's kind of annoying when people make it out to be by making secrets about it.

... I am so sorry I tl;dr'd you. Uh. I just felt the need to give my two cents because you seemed honestly annoyed by the secret and I don't think it's saying quite what you think (though the OP does seem a bit... over-edgy, uhm).

OP here. I'm not actually sexually attracted to her, but I love the fucking show so much, and she's my favourite character - it's so cute it hurts, and I love the way she fucks with shit. And every single time I sit down to watch it, my roommates go SHE'S WATCHING THAT LOLI SHOW AGAIN.

Totally ignoring the whole fact that there are, actually, a huge variety of stylistic choices out there in anime, I always wonder when I see secrets or complaints like this, because they're generally by people into RL-acted shows, and it's not like "real people" have huge stylistic variation either. (Though *I'd* love something 1980s-expired crazy hair and makeup on live acted shows sometime, but let's face it, they're generally a bunch of stubbly guys and well-proportioned women with standard 'generic to real life' settings.) I mean, that's cool, but isn't the real complaint then about realism vs illustration rather than amount of stylistic variation?
